My Bum Loves the Ride with Terry Touring Shorts
This is my second time to. purchase Terrry Women's touring bike shorts. The first pair lasted me for several hundred bike rides and I love Terry better than any other brand of bike shorts I've tried because they seem to be a better fit for women's bodies than the unisex shorts. I especially love the "touring" version of the short because of the extra padding and panels. This construction is especially great for long rides, but they are my "go-to" shorts for every ride. They are extremely comfortable for a 30-minute ride, an all day ride, and even a multi-day ride. I can rinse them out in the sink and they are dry and ready for riding again the next day.
just get them!
I've been in need of a new chamois for a while and was only half-happy with my prior pairs. So, I did what any mortal does these days and asked The Internet. The Internet did not lie. These are well worth it, especially when compared to other items at this price point. Favorite points: the fabric is soft and tough and stretchy. The chamois is a delightful shade of bubblegum, and relevant parts have never felt better protected. I'm sort of between sizes and ordered up (5'7", 140lbs, ordered M). Even though I can breathe, nothing shifted around on me and I love where they hit on the hips, with no digging in. Thank you, Terry! You're welcome over for a socially-distanced margarita anytime.
Super cycling shorts
I bought a pair of these a month ago and I love them so much, I purchased a second pair. The padding is much more comfortable than all my other cycling shorts. They fit snugly and feel very natural. The one thing I really like is that when I wear these I do not slip on my seat like my other spandex shorts. I have to admit since they didn't get such a great rating from one rider I was hesitant to purchase but then I remembered that REI has the best customer service policies in town. They are worth every penny!
Shorts that move with you
I bought these shorts for a multi-day summer tour and I think they were a good investment. They are comfortable and I felt well supported by the chamois cycling 40-50 miles per day. I found that once I was on the bike, I wasn't thinking about the shorts at all, they stay in place, move with my body, and almost have a second skin feel to them. The fabric also feels light and fairly breathable in higher temperatures. My only dissatisfaction with these shorts is the pocket, both for its size and placement. The pocket is small and whenever I used it I would feel its contents sitting against my hip bone while on the bike, it's definitely not a great option for storing my keys (but would hold a single key well).
Ridiculously Comfy
These are the best bike shorts I've ever owned. I've worn these for a handful of day trips of 6-7 hours in the saddle, as well as a few overnights and my butt has zero complaints. The material is strong--I've stumbled through blackberry patches without any tears--but lightweight enough to wear in August heat. There's even a little zipper pocket that I use to hold my keys. I'm 5'3" and weigh about 120 pounds. I ordered a size Medium and it's a Cinderella-level perfect fit.
Nice Fabric - Soft!
The waist hight for the Terry Touring Bike Shorts - Women's - # 8893510003 (L) is perfect for me! The touring has less compression than the Rebel but still fits well. The Rebel - Women's # 1857520004 (L) has a slightly higher waist so roles down - I do like the mesh of the rebel but they role down. I am a 12, 14 or 16 pending the product line and the L in both fit well. Length for both shorts is great, chamois is also nice in both.
Great shorts!
I bought these on sale and wish I had bought 2 pair. They really don't slip on my Brooks saddle. This means I am more comfortable on a long ride because I'm not having to think about staying in the right place on my saddle. They are a nice modest length and don't creep. Best of all, they have little higher rise and I don't feel like I have to pull them up all the time. The fabric feels a little heavier than my other bike shorts but they don't seem hot.
Finally, great, affordable cycling shorts
This is the 4th pair of cycling shorts I have owned since I got serious about riding and they are by far the best. Chamois is not bulky yet pads the proper places without feeling like a swampland. The waistband is super comfortable and doesn't roll. I'm not embarrassed to leave the house in them; no muffin topping or hideous bulging. The material is a bit slick so you can move on the saddle without the shorts shifting around. Definitely worth buying.
Great until the stitching failed
I liked these shorts very much until the stitching that fastens the chamois to the shorts came undone. This caused the chamois fabric to roll, which led to chafing. Bad news, and I only got 350-400 miles out of the shorts. Five Stars for great fit and feel, but poor stitching brings average down to Two Stars.
Great for long-distance touring
I wore these bike shorts every day touring cross-country for 4700 miles. They were durable, comfortable and performed well even on the longest days (120 miles) and dried quickly.
