Great pants

I have a really hard time finding hiking pants that fit. Most hiking pants tend to be really big in the legs, I prefer a more slimmer fit. These fit the bill pretty well. I've taken them to Yosemite for hiking and on the trail for mountain biking, they weren't hot, I was quite comfortable in them all day. If you're looking for a slimmer fit pant these work well!

Nice pants, but very odd

These pants confuse me. They are not great as hiking pants because the fit is too slim. I have a 33" waist. The 34" was way too big. The 32" fits perfectly around my waist, and for walking around town the fit is great, but anything beyond that they are too restrictive. They are very light weight and thin fabric, but not great in hot weather -- they don't seem to breathe very well and have no vents (mesh inside the zippered pockets would have been nice to use the pockets as a vent). They are not warm pants, just not as cool as I would expect from the weight. The back pockets are very shallow and barely fit my wallet, yet the front pockets are the deepest pockets I have ever seen on a pair of pants. Literally 12.5" deep from top of pocket opening to the bottom. Your keys are going to end up almost on your knees! And even worse, if you clip a knife to your pocket, the pocket runs at an odd angle making the knife go almost diagonally across your thigh (it follows the same angle as the zipper below it), but then as you go down, the pocket turns a corner -- like toward the back of your leg, under the zippered pocket. So to reach your keys (near your knees) you have to reach your hand around your knife, turn the corner, KEEP going down, then dig out your keys, now you are into your pocket nearly elbow deep. Why?!? There are some good things about these pants though. As just a casual pant, they do look pretty good. And they pack VERY small. I suppose for a travel pant these would be great. If you are looking for a warm weather hiking pant, I would strongly recommend the Kuhl Kontra Air over these. I love Arcteryx for other products but not for their pants and shirts. I will keep these pants for casual use, but not for hiking, biking, or anything active.

not quite as nice as others

I bought these with high hopes. I love my prAna stretch zion and Kuhl renegade pants, so I figured these would be slightly better because of the trusted brand and I like the light grey better than prAna's very dark grey. I love everything about these pants except the fit. It's an awkward fit on me. The waist fits nice and it's pretty snug around my butt. What I don't like is how baggy it is in the thigh area just under my butt. They're supposed to be trim, but they don't slim down until the knee range and it looks sloppy and cheap. The comfort and material are amazing, but unfortunately I'll have to take them back.

Arc'teryx Stowe Pants Review

This is my first purchase and test wearing. I wore these pants new for a flight to Colorado. These pants were extremely comfortable, breathable, and flexible. I felt no tightness or pinching when sitting for extended periods on the flight. The storage pockets were expertly designed and logical in there positioning on the legs. I plan on buying more asap.

Great pants, but size runs large

The pants are great, but the pants are very baggy and pant legs are very long. I'm 5'8" and usually buy my pants with a 29" inseam. I bought the 30" inseam (the shortest they have) and they legs are about 4 inches too long (they seem to fit like a 32" to 34" inseam). I guess Columbia thinks only people 5'11" and taller should be able to wear their pants.

Nice knees

Super comfy and quick dry. I purchased these for travel and hiking and they fit the bill. I am 6'1" 180 lbs and the size 34 fit me perfect. Much better than similar pants from other brands. Material is relatively thick and articulated knees make them really comfy when on the trail. Not sloppy like some travel pants. Bought second pare. Real quality.

No Go with Hiking Boots

These are well constructed, which they should be at this price point. The design and fit seem strange to me and the pants do not work with hiking boots. Regardless of style, the real problem is that the ankles are too small to go over hiking boot tops, not even my light duty boots. So the ankle material bunches up above the boot top and looks strange, plus trail debris is free to fall into my boots. All of my older Arc'teryx pants go over boot tops just fine without catching on lace hooks or requiring me to pull them down. The waist size is true and hips are fine, but then the thigh has lots of excess fabric bunched in back... what type of human modeled for this design?? The articulated knee is flexible enough, but when standing straight it looks like a series of bad sewing mistakes (fabric sticks out in odd bunches). Overall, not practical or good looking. I would not wear these in the city or on the trail. Back to the search.

Very light comfortable and great color.

Arc'teryx Men's Stowe Pant 36" waist (color Carbide) I love the color, the lightweight but durable and cool cloth. I'm wearing these around town as well. Would like at least on cargo pocket and and increase in the 'rise' (crotch length).

Nice but not durable

The knees and rear ripped way too easily. They don't withstand any sort of abrasion at all, even sitting on a rock. It's a shame because I really like the design.

Good Lightweight Travel Pants

Only complaint is that to save costs they went to a 5 inch zipper for the fly instead of the usual 6 inch zipper. Why can't they just charge 10 cents more and use the normal 6 inch zipper? I wish they had a little more room in the crotch. Other than that they are good. The side zip pockets are well designed.
