Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sturdy, simple and lasts forever I've been backpacking with this set for over 15 years. It's been through a lot of use and abuse, including cooking on fires and even using it dutch-oven style to bake cornbread. It's pretty beat up now but still functional. I'm finally looking to upgrade my kit to one of the new fancy styles with a larger pot, etc, but am skeptical they will stand the test of time as well as the humble bugaboo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MOWTIN REVIEW We had been looking at this product on & off over a couple of weeks. Weighing in at 18oz as an entire kit for only $29.95, we figured there had to be a catch somewhere along the line. Comparing it to other lightweight cook sets, it seems as though you receive more "bang for your buck" with this set over others that consist of smaller portions, products that don't have any non-stick film, for a much higher price. With REI's awesome satisfaction guarantee, it was especially worth a shot. We took this cook set out with the MSR - PocketRocket, putting it to the test cooking multiple whole food meals over several days. For starters, we took out the cup because for our personal use it was unnecessary. But for someone that needs a cup, there you go! Following every meal, we were completely satisfied with the mess kit. The pot/pan is covered in a non-stick film that was true to its word. Without using any sprays or oils we were able to cook chicken and quinoa multiple times without any sticking, along with an EASY clean up. The set received little-to-no damage at all from the flame of the PocketRocket, only leaving a dim mark on the bottom of the pot/pan. To top it off, the hot-hand pot handle works great. It involves a little hand-eye coordination but we have confidence in you. Great product and we will definitely be recommending this product to anybody in need of some awesome outdoor cookware!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice to travel I like this product is light, easy to clean and non sticky. The only thing I didn't like to much was the handle sometimes its kinda difficult to use specially if its dark... but overall love it .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bargain Teflon makes a world of difference! Light weight. Removal handle fits both pots. Second pot can be lid for first, but doesn't fit on securely either when cooking or packing (but the mesh bag keeps everything together in the pack). Plastic cup and bowl are basic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and easy to clean This was my first camping cookware purchase and I couldn't have been happier. The non stick was amazing and made cleaning up super simple. Very lightweight and stored nicely in its mesh bag. Color is nice too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good mess kit for solo use Great little kit for a single person, I'd reccomend to anyone going camping by themselves. If you have more than yourself you might want to upgrade to the bigger kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great cookset for backpacking This cook kit is super great for use with the MSR pocket rocket backpacking stove. My old cook set would get damaged by the strength of the pocket rocket stove, but these are much more sturdy! The bottom is untarnished with use and they are super easy to clean with the Teflon nonstick coating. The set comes in a handy mesh bag and is well worth the price!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Would be great but for a poorly designed gripper I just got back from backpacking with this mess kit. I liked a lot about it. The size and weight were perfect for me. The teflon surface and the ridged bottoms of the pans made cooking on a pocket rocket a breeze. I liked the plastic bowl for shaving weight. This kit seemed like it would stand the test of time, too. BUT the gripper is poorly designed. It grips the brackets on the pans very lightly, so that it seems you might spill your dinner on the ground. In addition, the gripper only works one way. So, even though the product description advertised the frying pan as also being a lid to the pot, you cannot grip the "lid" with the gripper to take it off the pot (can only grip the pan when it is right side up, not upside down.) In addition, this gripper doesn't work with the brackets on other pots/pans or to simply grip the edges of pots/pans. Considering returning the whole kit because of the hassle the gripper caused during the trip.

Just wondered if I could use cooking oil spray on the teflon surface without damaging the pots. I've always cooked with real olive or canola oil at home but considering using the spray as it's more practical. Thank you.
