In Love with Yeti!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve gone a little crazy with my Yeti’s!!! From the new blue to the pretty coral. Love, love, love my new Roadie cooler and my matching Rambler. Already looking forward to my next purchase!
Objective measurement does not support YETI
I purchased the YETI Rambler yesterday. Tonight I simultaneously filled four different vacuum bottles with 180F water for comparison. The Yeti, an old Stanley, a 5 year old REI vacuum bottle and a Kleen Kanteen (also purchased at REI) of similar capacity. I placed all bottles outside at approx. 30F temperatures for 3 hours. The REI distinctly exceeded all others. Water from the REI bottle remained uncomfortably hot, the Yeti water hot but noticeably cooler than that from the REI bottle. Stanley rated # 3 with warm water and Kleen Kanteen content was disappointingly cool. Buy an REI brand metal vacuum and ignore the Yeti hyperbole, they do not measure up functionally.
I bought this today & am in love after my first sip! Drinks like a regular Yeti Rambler.. The "over the nose" wide mouth, smooth rim, and the loop on the cap just made every other bottle I own obsolete. Haven't had it long enough to see how long ice stays cold, but it's a Yeti, so I'm sure it's just as good as my cup, actually better, since it has a seriously insulated lid. Thank you for a great product!!
Travels Well
I own a few Yeti products already, so I was confident the 18 oz. Rambler Vacuum Bottle would suit my need. I wanted to carry cold water on my motorcycle trips, especially in the summertime, with the certainty that the water would stay cold. I actually bought two of them, and they work exactly as I'd wanted. I purchased two 18 oz. bottles vs. one 36 oz. bottle for space/packing considerations. The bottles are tough, durable, and I love the way the twist on caps seal nice and tight. I have to confess I haven't made any extensive comparisons with other products, but I have to say the Yeti bottles do everything I need them to do.
Now I Have to Get Used to Usimg Less Ice
I'd almost accuse this thing of creating its own ice. I bought it to keep some expensive scotch at a reasonable temp while car camping, which it did do nicely. This morning I filled it with half ice, half water. 8 hours later, after running around, leaving the bottle in the car with 90 degree heat outside (had to be 130+ at times in the car), and some opening and drinking, it still had a bunch of ice when I finally finished the water. I can't imagine there is a better insulating bottle out there. Anyway, I just promoted this thing to my full time car water/coffee bottle.
NOT bpa free
The bottle itself is very sturdy and well built. It keeps tea / coffee hot for a good four hours plus. The design is both functional and stylish. The cap with its wide loop design is easy on / off, even with gloves / mitts on. Which brings us to the cap itself. While the details of the product list it is BPA free that is a half truth. The stainless steel bottle is indeed BPA free. The cap ( zoom over the image on website to see a number 7 on the cap. 7 = bpa ) is not. This would be an issue as to use this as a bpa free product one would have to use it with the cap.
Super cool!
I purchased a few items at once and LOVE the rambler bottles. I bought the small one in the sea foam color along with the straw cap and the chug cap. I alternate hot coffee then ice water throughout the week and works perfect in keeping temperatures for hours. My husband received the middle sized olive green bottle for Christmas and the lids are great because they fit the different sizes of bottles. Was happy we could change out the lids to whatever we wanted to use that day! We will definitely be purchasing more bottles to toss in our bags without having to worry about anything leaking.
Leaks :(
I have wanted this rambler for over a year, but was having trouble biting the bullet. I finally did and LOVED it at first. It's been about 2 months now and it has started leaking. Now I cant bring it many places because everything in my bag ends up wet. Highly dissappointed. I had such high Hope's for this!
Our Straw Cap is a leak-resistant option for our Rambler Bottle series. If you are wanting something that is 100% leak-proof, I would recommend the Triple Haul Cap or the Chug Cap accessories.Due to the umbrella value installed in the Straw Cap, it is possible for leaking to occur. This umbrella valve is located beneath the straw when it is in a resting position and actually helps to depressurize the internal environment of the Bottle for the use of a straw. This is seen most often when the Bottle has been on its side or tipped over for an extended amount of time. If this is the case, the water can get captured underneath the straw so that when you flip it up, it starts releasing the accumulated water that escaped from the umbrella value.
Rugged as expected, unfortunately not the finish.
I’m a big fan of all Yeti products. They just work and worth it to me for their dependability. I was a bit bummed though with the new river bottle already fading after just one wash. It has spots in the finish, not typical at all.
It sounds like you might be describing hard water spots, feel free to contact our Outfitter team at customerservice@yeti.com and we'll share some removal tips.
Disappointed in its performance
Being an owner of two Yeti coolers as well as a number of the tumblers and colster, I had high expectations that this 18 oz bottle would keep liquids cold for a long period of time. Not so, unfortunately. I filled the bottle with water and ice at 8:00 a.m and left it in my vehicle for the morning. At 12:30 p.m. (the first time I opened it), the ice was all melted. Granted, it was a hot day (about 86) and I'm sure much warmer in my vehicle while parked, but I still expected the ice to last more than 4.5 hours in this bottle. I certainly wouldn't spend this amount of money again for a bottle with such mediocre performance, in my opinion.
