Rated 2 out of 5 by from Glorified house slippers NOT winter boots I ordered these online, sight unseen, without trying them on. On my feet they feel like comfortable, lightweight booties. In fact, they feel like house slippers. I'm looking for winter boots, not house slippers so I'm sending them back. They're unstructured so there's no foot support, and the laces pinch the boot so it puckers unattractively at the front. They're not very warm either. I recommend these only if you want really expensive house slippers or if the only place you have to walk is shoveled sidewalks in temps above 30*

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Plastic D-ring Failure I ordered the black version of this boot TWICE. And TWICE they arrived with a snapped plastic d-ring, making the laces slip through. It looks like the brown version has a metalic d-ring which would be much better. It could probably be superglued, but when you pay over $100 for a pair of boots, you don't want to be using superglue just to make it work. Additionally, the laces seem a bit lightweight for a winter snow boot. These are light, and stylish for sure. But so disappointing with that engineering failure!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cute but not warm I do really like these and they are super cute on, but when out in 30 degree weather my toes were cold after about 30mins. Even with thick Smart Wool socks they do not keep the cold out. And like another review said they are totally flat on the inside so there is not arch support. I wanted winter boots I could hike in, and these are more for running from the car around town. I may return them for something warmer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Never again. Utter disappointment. I originally wanted these shoes to keep my feet warm in the winter. As I was trying them on, I had to tighten the shoelaces, as with all shoes, and one firm tug completely broke one eyelet on the left boot. I was so disappointed. I was so surprised with the complete lack of quality in these shoes. Talk about cheap. I mean, who puts plastic eyelets on a snow boot? Seriously. You have to know that there will be some vigorous tugging involved to ensure a good fit and to keep warmth in, so why put a cheap and flimsy piece of plastic on there? North Face products are usually pretty good quality, but after this fiasco, I'm not so sure how much I will be a repeat costumer. I will be sending them back, for sure. So very disappointed. Please rethink the next time you put a plastic eyelet on something, North Face.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Fit and Style Out of the box the shorty boot fit very well (B width) and are not clunky. The shoe is light and the quality seems great for snowy weather. Although i have not tried them yet in snow, they kept my feet dry in the rain. I ordered them in the black/plum kitten color but they are actually all black. I don't know why they are called plum in the description.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not warm enough These boots are stylish, but not warm enough for Minnesota. I had to return them because I was looking for something super warm that I could walk outside in for at least 30 minutes in negative temperatures.

Questions & Answers

Can these be worn for hiking?

Asked by: Belly2u
These boots would be ok for short hikes, but are not for longer hikes or with heavy packs. They are too warm for anything but cold weather use.
