Rated 5 out of 5 by from Its a beaut This knife is excellent. High quality. Feels great in the hand. Perfect size for edc, but highly functional for the outdoors. The clip is strong and reliable, and feels like there is nothing in my pocket. The Axis lock is also dependable and really well designed. The jibbing gives the right amount of grip. Super sharp and holds its edge well. The dymondwood handle gives it a classic look with fantastic durability. Cant say enough good things about this knife.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All around awesome Knife. I bought as a EDC, super durable and light weight. Great for small bushcraft projects or chopping up food a the campsite.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great knife excellent lock I have been a bit obsessed with knives since I was a boy and now have quite a few. Benchmade make a very strong, reliable locking mechanism that has never faltered. I really love this series, with the wood / resin handle. I've had it in rain and wet conditions with no flaws. All metals rust so I do dry it off asap. The thumb stud on this is really useful and opens the knife well. One of my other Benchmade knives has the same steel which takes a long time to dull, even after cutting roofing and serious other tasks. Then I have sent it back to Benchmade for a free sharpening. It is just one of those products that has quality in every part. I've only had this one for a month but can't stop thinking about it. Expensive but a great purchase for me. I use it at work as a contractor and at home for cutting vegetables and everything in between.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect This was love at first feel. I have two other Benchmades and love them also, but how this one hooked me was the feel in my hand. I like the weight and balance more than my other ones. The action is so smooth and the locking mechanism is so sweet you will forget any pain over the cost; it's trulynworth it. Oh yea, it comes sharp as in shave the hair on your arm sharp. The handles are actually darker and richer than the ad photo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great knife for EDC I bought this about a month ago and it is my EDC. I love Benchmades and have had many throughout being in the military and as just a regular outdoors person. I haven't put this knife to the test but am confident it would stand up to almost anything I would do while camping or just everyday life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great feel, Sharp. So I recently purchased this so I can't say for sure how well the edge retention is, but I feels incredible and came razor sharp. Only input I would have is that the picture is a bit misleading on how light the wood finish is but definitely happy with my knife.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Overpriced for what this knife delivers Let me start by saying this is a very handsome knife. The handle material is eye-catching/durable and the blade shape is a very well executed drop point. That being said, out of box, the blade had an excessive amount of lateral play and would easily wiggle free from the handle in pocket. Slightly tightening the pivot helped but made one handed opening impossible. In short it's a looker but I wouldn't carry outside of my home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handsome to boot It's a benchmade, so quality, reliability, sharpness and support are all ready a given. What's unique? The wood grip handle has a nice feel and the little extra thickness gives it a nice sure grip. This knife is also noticeably heavier and the blade is just a pinch thicker than a lot of the other (Benchmade) everyday folders, which is nice when using it for the typical camping chores. Hence, it is not my daily carry knife out of the woods. Lastly, it's just a darn good looking knife. Very pleased with this purchase and would recommend to anyone looking for a top notch general purpose knife for the camp site.

Could I get this knife engraved? Also, I am getting my graduating college son a knife for camping. He loves the wood look. Would this be a good basic camping knife ?

Asked by: Gigi
We do not offer engraving services at REI but this is a great camping knife. We encourage you to contact the vendor directly to inquire about the possibility of engraving.

Does the wood handle have a sealer to protect the wood finish?

Asked by: Kingfletch
The handle on the 15031BB-2 North Fork Knife is not coated with any type of sealant. It is however a mix of resin and wood which will be resistant to scratches and cracks.
