Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Shirt I have not had the chance to test this shirt out in the field as I bought it on my way home from a hiking trip. However, I have the following things to say about it. First, the quality seems to be very nice. The sticking looks durable and the shirt is very comfortable to wear. I plan on wearing it while working out, hiking and mountain biking. Second, I'm 6' tall 170lbs and wear a medium shirt 99.9% of the time. a medium is perfect in the length but a little tight in the shoulders and biceps. Despite this I plan on purchasing a few more of these shirts due to how comfortable they are.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Active Long Sleeve Shirt I am 6'1" 165lbs and the medium fits me great. I mainly wear this for exercising, but I think these could also be worn as a normal long sleeve shirt. Fits and feels great. Wicks moisture well. Not all that flexible, but I have had no issues playing ultimate frisbee with it on. Lifts up ever so slightly when I lift my arms straight above my head, but it is insignificant. I took a tumble on the concrete during a game of ultimate and there seems to be no damage at all to this shirt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable I like the quality of the shirt, it wicks well and the material feels cool and comfortable. Generally I use the long sleeve shirt for running during temps in the 40's and 50's and have been kept warm. Only complaint is that the shirt is tight in back across the shoulders so it does feel like they are getting pulled backwards a bit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warn with an Athletic Fit - Love it I bought this product a week ago and I am very happy with the feel and fit. Used this on a recent golf tourney 50 degrees and foggy in the morning but felt comfortable and warm with only a undershirt and the Tech T-shirt. Wore a vest for awhile but soon it off after a hour on the course. I have used it working out in the gym and it seems to breathe well. The feel is very smooth and more comfortable than even a Smartwool shirt. The fit is very nice with a little space in the arms but I think that will work well in cold weather keeping some warmer air between layers. I will have to wait to see the durability of this shirt but since this is a poly blend I suspect it will hold up well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely Moisture Wicking These shirts do exactly what they were intended to do - wick moisture. I use these shirts as a base layer when I know I will be working up a sweat in cold weather. They absorb sweat very quickly and keeps my skin from getting cold and clammy. After my first purchase and use, I went ahead and purchased several colors in long sleeve and short sleeve. Great product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I am not a monkey I was disappointed with my discounted purchase from my beloved REI as the sleeves were over the end of my fingertips. My past purchase of the same item, same size, in a different color was delightful for 24.95 so when I saw it online reduced to 12.95 I was beside myself. When it arrived I felt like they thought I was a monkey as the sleeves extended over my fingertips. Obviously a defect so when I returned it I was hoping to exchange for the same price. I was wrong. Now 29.95 in store. The trip back and forth to pickup and return the online purchase left a sour taste. I know, they knew what they were doing. Fair would be to tell the online purchaser what the defect is to make an informed purchase. Online buyer beware.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Buy I have bought 4 of these shirts; 2 long sleeve and 2 short sleeve. I use these shirts for gym work outs, jogging, day hiking, and backpacking. I find the shirte to wick quite well and dry quickly. On a recent 6 day backpack trip, dunking the shirt in a stream and allowing the shirt to dry was all I needed to keep the funk smell away. The shirts have proven to be quite tough to resisting abrading as I navigated boulder fields and scrambled off-trail.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Love These Shirts These shirts are so soft and slinky, they feel really great on my skin. I haven't tested them in a really sweaty situation yet but I am ordering more of them. I highly recommend them!

What is the difference between the REI Co-Op Long-Sleeve Tech T-Shirt and the REI Sahara Long-Sleeve T-Shirt?

Asked by: sephduong
The fabric on the Sahara shirt is slightly thicker than the Co-Op shirt and the Sahara fabric has some spandex mixed in to the polyester for stretch. The Sahara fabric is UPF 50+ while the Co-Op shirt does not have a UPF rating.

What is the UPF of this shirt? How does it compare in sun-protection/lightness to the REI Sahara long-sleeve tech t-shirt?

Asked by: ATrek
The manufacturer REI uses to knit this material does not give UPF ratings. This does not mean that the shirt does not have sun protection, just that we can't tell how much. The Co-Op Long-Sleeve Tech T-Shirt has a loose weave, so if rated, it would be well below the 50+ rating of the REI Sahara Tech Long-Sleeve Shirt - Men's.

What are the basic care instructions for this shirt? Will washing in cold/warm water and hanging it up to drip-dry work? I am thinking of using this shirt for travel, and would like to be able to wash in a hotel room sink. Any thoughts?

Asked by: JoeD
This shirt can be machine washed and dried or hand washed and hang dry when traveling.
