Succeed any Expectation!!!
I recently started to bike commute to my office, it is about 7M from where I live. I was looking for a pannier where I can carry my lap top and the daily clothes I am wearing at the office. Because I live in Orlando and high temperatures force you to take a shower every day at the office, it was important for me to have enough space for the towel and other bath staff also. It has been 2 weeks already and I am complitly sutisfied with my purchase, the cost-benefit ratio of the Tandem is excellent and I'll strongly recommended for commuters that want a pannier that is not huge, so it becomes unpractical to carry-on but at the same time not so small, so you can't take all the staff you need for your daily basis life. (Work-GyM-Eat).
Very convenient and stylish pannier bags
I have used this product for commuting for about a month now and love it. I appreciate how it attaches quickly and securely to my rack. The velcro straps on the top keep it in firmly in place and the straps of velcro on the inner of each bag easily strap to my rack supports to keep the bags from flapping or jostling. There is plenty storage and I am able to easily fit my 15" laptop alongside my shoes and other goodies on one side, leaving plenty room on the other side for clothes, lunch, tubes&tools, etc.(YMMV) When I get to work or home I simply unstrap and grab the handles and go. The reflective materials are a nice touch and really go to show that Timbuk2 really tried to cover all the bases.
Good affordable bag
I bought this a few weeks ago for my daily commute. Although not perfect, I am quite satisfied with it. It is of very good quality and not as expensive as other brands for similar products. It is more than spacious enough for what I need to bring to work: laptop (for which there is inside pocket), a few folders of notes, lunch and a change of clothes. A nice feature is the incline of the bags which ensures that there is no heal strike while pedaling. The only problem I have with it is that the velcro fasteners at the forward corners of the bags are not very easy to fasten or unfasten, si that it takes me a few minutes to secure the bag in place or to remove it.
School and beer.
This is a decent sized duel bag with plenty of space for my text books, lunch, and water bottle. For a good bike ride space for all my beer, food, and any camping gear i want. I have not dealt with it in the rain, nor have I had a nasty spill with it yet, so I dont know how it will hold up in that respect. Magnets could be stronger, but i love how i can bike to my destination and use it as a briefcase. I like it, but like anything it could always be better, and it fits my needs perfectly.
Small but Tough
I live on an island in the PNW where I ride often to the ferries for overnight and day trips. Through rain and mud and light trails, but mostly roads, these have been great. Contents have always stayed dry. I love how easily I can grab them off my bike and carry them both bag style. They are smaller and without a lot of pockets, which I wanted for my daily uses like grocery runs, bike rides across the island and errands. One space for it all is good by me. I am small so my bike is too and they don't overwhelm it. I haven't had them long enough to comment on wear and tear, but so far, I am pleased and got everything I expected.
Great bags.
These bags for great on my bike, come off quickly and hold everything I need for a day at work - laptop, lunch, other necessities. Due to the distance I have to travel, and the space in these bags, I think I'll be leaving clothes at work to change into. The bags themselves aren't especially heavy, but when every gram counts, like a big climb, you definitely know you've got them there. The logo on the flap is reflective, but more would be a good idea. Maybe the piping around the seams or some other design elements. All in all they are great commuting bags. Wish they were a bit bigger and more reflective, but I would recommend.
Super convenient!
I love these panniers! I carry a lot of stuff regularly, so a messenger bag isn't always the most practical. At the same time, standard panniers can be a pain to take on and off or secure. With these, I can load 'em up, commute, and just grab and go once I get there. They're also great for groceries. One downside is that actually using them as a bag that you carry with your hands is awkward and often just...ugly looking? They're a very bizarre shape if you try and use them messenger bag style, and are so long that I feel completely off balance if I just carry them with the smaller handle. Other than that, though, I love them!
durable, roomy
I use this bag whenever I ride my bike. It's packed with gym clothes, groceries, computer, shoes, and sometimes books. I can get $60 worth of groceries in the two pouches. It resisted water well in the rain. Alas, I was run off the road one day by a bus, ended up coming off my bike, which slid across the gravelly ground for several feet. Inside this pannier was my phone, my computer, and some books. All of the contents were in perfect condition. The bag suffered a few tiny scuffs and one tiny whole. I was so impressed. My limbs did not fair half as well. This bag is durable, and reliable. My only complaint is that the strap slides off my shoulder unless I wear it cross body.
Excellent Commute Bag
I've been using this for my work commute for about 5 months. Got it to get my laptop off my back, and no regrets so far. Pros: Ample space for work items plus personal gear, nice color, waterproof, small pockets inside are useful, quick to attach to rack, I usually don't even have to use the securing straps on the back, just the ones that attach to the rear rack. Cons: If the weight in your bags are very unevenly distributed, you will need to use the securing straps to make sure the unit doesn't slip over to one side. This process takes a bit longer than I like and can be challenging if your bike is parked in a tight spot. But this is only necessary when the weight is *really* uneven - like I had a jacket on one side and a bag of tangerines on the other. Also, the bag does not clamp onto the rack like a pannier would, so when you hit bumps in the road, you feel the bag jostle. Not a big deal if your ride is mostly smooth paved. If you want to use the should strap, you really need to clip both sides of the bag together - the magnets are not strong enough to hold both sides together unless the bag is empty. Clipping and unclipping the shoulder strap might be annoying if you have to do this multiple times a day. Even with these cons, I still enjoy this bag - ease of use and getting my pack off my back is worth the minor issues.
Awesome commuter bag, holds tons
I commute a round trip of 8 miles on very bumpy, very densely trafficked streets in the city. This keeps my 15" MacBook Pro retina snug and fully covered, my iPad tight, lunch + change of clothes + chargers and even some groceries. It is easily collapsed in size when you don't need all the room, but otherwise has gobs of storage. Sits snug on my rack and despite earlier reviews, my newer rally blue version has no 'hooks' - it attaches at the bottom via sturdy Velcro that will never catch in a tire or anything like that. Seems built like a rock and will last a long time. I'm extremely pleased.
