Great Waterproof Panniers

I got these about a year ago and use them regularly for grocery shopping and getting to and from work. It allows me to not use a backpack (which generally leaves sweat marks on my work clothes :( ). I got them on sale to see if I would actually use them, and I do. The fact that the shoulder strap is thin is a little annoying for when you are shopping and the fact that they don't have an outside pocket is annoying. But I knew all those things when I bought them. For hauling heavy stuff they are great. They were also remarkably easy to install and putting them on and taking them off the bike rack is just as easy as it looks.

A fantastic pannier bag

A fantastic pannier bag. The Ortllieb Back-Roller design is easy to close, waterproof, and holds plenty for my daily commutes, even in changing weather where I might bring extra cycling clothes with me in additional to my work clothes. The bag is very well made and the attachment system with an Ortlieb rack is effortless. I got the high visibility version and it is great for being seen in traffic, as the whole bag is effectively a reflector.

Bright, big bag

This is a great bag. It is super reflective, sturdy, and easy to use. You can load it up a ton. I easily fit my 13ish" laptop in the fold, a change of clothes, a lot of random bike gear at the bottom, a large tupperware for lunch, and still have extra space while keeping it waterproof. If I want to go crazy, I can load it up with groceries (think baguette hanging out the top) securely. However, the waterproofing requires the top to be rolled a few times. This sacrifices some space but that waterproofing is awesome. Never experienced any seepage, and I've been using one daily in the PNW for a year now. I decided to buy a second so I can haul more junk around and stay very visible while doing it. The straps are not super comfortable for longer distances, but are fine for 10-20 minutes of walking.
