Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Jacket! Let me just say that this is my THIRD purchase of the Osito jacket. Not because my others have worn out, but because the quality of this jacket is unbeatable. Seriously, the price is worth the investment! When it was cold, I was able to wear only a tee shirt under this jacket and not feel a thing! It is so warm and comfy! I do not write reviews very often, but I felt compelled to write this one. I have not experienced any shedding or shrinkage after washing. I am 5'8, 160 lbs, 36in bust. I ordered a large and it fits perfectly. If you're thinking about getting this jacket, go ahead and get it. You will not regret it. What you will get is people wanting to touch your jacket because it is so soft!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Osito Jacket and Osito Vests I bought the jacket and 2 vests because I thought they looked nice on others. I wore some very expensive sweaters with them. The jacket and the vests all shed so badly that the sweaters were practically ruined, and every thing and person I came in contact with was covered with the Osito fuzz. I was very embarrassed and received a number of comments about all the fuzz. I would advise washing the Osito products and leaving them in the dryer for at least an hour before wearing them. I am not sure it will take care of the fuzz and balls of lint, but it is worth a try. I don't understand why North Face would make such products. Buyer beware.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great and Beautiful Jacket After reading MANY reviews of this product, I was hesitant to purchase this piece, but very glad I did. People complained of shedding, but I have yet to see any shedding come off this jacket. It is a beautiful color and keeps you very warm (I wear jackets all the time because the office is so cold). I am SO glad that I followed the sizing guide as in most clothing I am a medium and was prepared to buy the medium until the sizing guide pointed me to the large. It fits perfectly. I am 5'11" and 150lbs, so this was a beautiful jacket for my body type.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Osito - Sheds like nothing I've ever seen I was so excited and happy to wear this soft, comfy and stylish jacket. I loved everything about it until I found out that it sheds more than my Shiba Inu does. It's a gift from my daughter and I like the color pink and really love to treasure it but I hate that it's all over my black pants, my hair, my t-shirt, the seatbelt in my car - anything! It was not what I expected from a reputable brand and my thought is that did the company have quality control at all and how did this jacket passed that? I had to look online to check reviews and thankful mine is not the only one that sheds. I have the tags but no gift receipt so I'm not sure if North Face will honor warranty replacement.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Make sure you buy a lint roller with your Osito 2 I exchanged the first Osito 2 that I bought because, after one day of use, I discovered a huge hole in the side seam. Obviously, I was really disappointed but I foolishly decided to get a replacement. I loved my Osito 2 for a couple of weeks until I noticed that it started shedding like crazy. It has been four months since I bought it and the shedding is getting worse. It is ridiculous and unwearable. I feel like it is falling apart. Whenever I use it, I get obnoxious black fuzz all over my clothing. My Osito 2 cannot go anywhere near my bed or sofa because of all the shedding. I'm truly disappointed in this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soft as a Bunny I just purchased the Osito in black for college and I absolutely love it. This is my first ever North Face jacket. It is so soft...softer than you would even think by looking at it! I got the black because it will go with just about anything, but I plan on asking for another in the bright purple for my birthday ;-) I haven't worn it outside yet obviously, but it seems warm. Not too tight, which I love. Not made small, it's true to size. It was pricey, but I'm a firm believer in the statement "You get what you pay for", and also there is a guarantee. I'm excited to get a lot of wear out of this around campus in the fall and winter!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Jacket, Sheds Everywhere The quality of this jacket has seriously gone downhill this year. In past years, the jacket was lined on the inside and the sleeves were adjustable at the wrist. This jacket has no lining whatsoever and the sleeve openings have been replaced by a cheap, non-adjustable material. In addition to all of this, the jacket sheds everywhere. I wore this in a car and when I got out, the entire seatbelt was covered with black fuzz. This jacket is incredibly disappointing and a serious downgrade from past Northface fuzzy jackets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wife loves it! My wife absolutely loves this jacket I purchased for her as a Christmas gift. The color (Dapple Grey) is pretty much spot on in person as it appears on the website, although in certain lighting it almost has a purple-ish undertone to it which my wife also loves! The sizing does run a bit small as many of the reviews of this jacket had said, so I am glad I went up one size when ordering as it fits perfectly! This jacket is so warm and soft, it was my wife's favorite present! I truly believe you get what you pay for when it comes to North Face, as I have owned a jacket myself for 10 years and it is still as reliable as ever. Well worth the $$!!

What is the best North face shell to go with this jacket? For wind, rain, and snow. I didn't see a shell in the store that had zippers that meshed with the Osito.

Asked by: Akanaturegirl
The Osito has a coil zipper. A #5 tooth zipper (most, not all) is needed to zip into a shell. Since the selection is not limited by the ability to zip into a shell, any waterproof/breathable jacket could work. Ski/snow board jackets add a powder skirt, though all are not waterproof.

I know its not waterproof but how does it hold up in rain? If the jacket does get soaked will it ruin the fur?

Asked by: Chris
This fleece will not provide much rain protection, but water will not ruin the material.

How do you clean the north face fleece osito jacket?

Asked by: Riverrat
The Osito 2 should be machined washed separately in warm water on a delicate cycle. Close all zippers and turn garment inside out. Do not use bleach or fabric softeners. Tumble dry on low heat. For best results you can hang dry the jacket. We would recommend using Nikwax Tech wash instead of traditional detergent.
