Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Lightweight Carabiner This is a great addition to the rack and is especially useful when using a clove hitch to clip into belay stations. It is nice and small and so it keeps the anchor organized and neat. For multipitch climbing, I usually climb with 1 or 2 of these and use a larger carabiner as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stupid simple Super light weight, but what I really like about this carabiner is that it has red coloration on the latch that is only visible when it is unlocked, great extra safety measure. Easy to check if it is locked. Didn't even notice this until an REI worker at the Englewood, CO store pointed it out to me, Thank you guys!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Didn't like the shape I got this carabiner to replace a Petzl William carabiner that is relatively large and heavy. The William is a pear shape biner. The intended purpose for this biner was solely for use with an ATC to rappel. I wanted the biner and atc to be pretty much unnoticeable on my harness until I needed to clean a route. I thought this would be excellent for that due to the low weight. Petzl did a great job in terms of making a low weight carabiner with a great feeling gate action. But after using it, the shape of the biner doesn't work well for rappel because it tries to force the rope up into the top corner; this causes the rope to get pinched in the corner some and makes lowering smoothly and quickly somewhat difficult. I also only weigh about 145lbs...this effect would probably be magnified with any additional weight on the rope. I should have realized this and didn't; its no fault of Petzl's. This is a great carabiner, just not as versatile as it could be. It would be excellent for single rope belay, but I'm using a grigri2 for belay on another biner. So in hind sight, I'd take the extra couple grams and the tiny reduction in strength and go with the Petzl Attache carabiner...which has the pear shape, is lite, and would be much better for rappel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Biner I purchased two of these specifically for use with the Petzl Dual Connect Lanyard.
