Issue with locking
I have purchased 5 of these--they are the right size for my SAR uses. I have found all of them will, after "normal" finger tightening, lock under load. One of my peers while on rappel needed to borrow a multi-tool to unlock the screwgate. Again, this was after a normal finger tightening. I have sorta "fixed" this by finger tightening the screwgate, then putting a pliers on it to carefully crank it tight (over-tight) several times. This helps. While using on the rope, I am cautious to go light on the finger tightness. I like these due to the size and apparent quality, but my other manufacturer's carabiners do not have this issue.
Ah, The Big Willy
I have this big boy and also the triact-locking model. They make my previous screw and triact crabs look like fools stuck in the mindless whirlpool of 'light and convenient'. Grow up and get yourself a biner-machiner that's just as ready for that 10meter top-roping session as you are! William; a gentlecarabiner and a scholar. I would trade my life savings for one of these, but $20 is good too.
Bomber
Wide enough for two clove hitches. Old school locker not tricky gimicks
Great carabiner!
Not quite for your average climbing needs, but great for munter hitch rappels when going fast and light or maybe for when you need to tie in a lot more than just yourself at a belay. totally recommend.
this item can hold full size adult and proven
high quality lifeline carabiner
Favorite munter hitch and belay station carabiner!
These are fantastic lockers that feel great in the hands. The larger size and shape of the carabiner makes it great for using with a munter hitch and at belay stations.
Great climbing tool
This is a great piece to have on your rack. A very capable multipurpose carabiner. Munter hitch capable, multi pitch master point and nice for racking anchors.
Visual aid is key
5 star as this screw carabiner has a red visual marking beneath the screw lock quickly letting you know if it’s completely locked or not quite at a glance
Great screw lock
I'm always a bit nervous using new hardware.. but it performed as all Petzl products perform. Perfect in my opinion.
great with a Munter
We use these for munter belays and for rappel with a secondary ‘safety’ rope for youths. It accommodates multiple knots and minters really well. The gates work great for us thus far as well. Will be buying more of these ones as needed for sure.
