Rated 5 out of 5 by from Slept like a baby! This pillow is a dream! I balked at the price at first but took the plunge and have not looked back. Weighs nothings, takes no space at all. I am a side sleeper and most of my sleep difficulties during overnight trips has been related to everything I've used either slipping out from under my head or not being high enough. While I still had to stick a jacket under it to give it some added loft it all stayed put and I never struggled once. There is a large version of this but I think this one is better because it really fits well under your head. As one of the other reviewers noted, if you fill it up only about 80% of the way it works best! Your head just sinks in nicely and floats you away to comfortable dream time!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very prone to punctures, cannot be easily repaired The pillow looks great on the shelf but mine punctured very quickly, and I was only using it in the tent. The problems occurs when you try and fix it. You have to cut the cover away as you can't stick a patch on the fuzzy outer cover. Inside SEA to Summit have used the cheapest of cheap plastics which makes it so prone to puncture and yet so destructive to fix (ie cutting away the cover). The inner plastic is about as durable as a ziploc bag. I'd go for another, higher quality brand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light weight and a room saver in the pack I slept on the pillow last night. Here is a couple of observations. First it is the best pillow so far for hiking that I have found. It packs down very small so doesn't take up a lot of space and is very light weight. It inflates to a good sized pillow with a soft surface. I inflated it to much and found that I needed to let a lot of air out of it which was easy to do. That being said…. It has a bit of a "crinkly" sound to it. I don't think that would be an issue. Is it the perfect pillow for hiking? I'll sleep on it…

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprising comfort for inflatable I've tried several inflatable pillows and all of them felt like I was sleeping on a beach ball - hard, plastic, and not comfortable. This one is much closer to a real pillow. The top material is soft and comfy. Yes, you still know you are sleeping on an inflatable pad, but if you only fill it about 80% of the way, it's much more comfortable than others I have tried. It collapses easily, stores small, and as light. It's earned a permanent place in my pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow~ I've found my perfect pillow at last! I bought both the large and small versions of this pillow for use at home and on the trail. The jury is still out on the large one, but the regular size is the "perfect" pillow I've long sought. It stays in place, the cover is warm when it is cold outdoors and prevents my cheek from sticking to it when temperatures are high. The cover has good "tooth" to prevent it from slipping against a pad and it will also fit inside the hood of my sleeping bag along with my head. Pressing the little nubbin in the center of the valve allows one to bleed air to the desired firmness. Best of all, the pillow can be set on-edge to make it tall enough for side sleepers -- the curve cradles one's face and the lot remains stable through the night. I fill mine to about 80% and find that gives the best all-'round results. Love the arc on the lower edge that allows me to tuck a corner over my shoulder and under an ear. The pillow sits flat because it is not lens-shaped, and the top is shaped but not hollow, so it cradles the head without causing a lump at the neck. The large version "should" be just as good, but early trials are showing it tends to fold and wallow a bit at similar pressures, where the regular version follows my head for comfort. Because of this, I may give the large to a relative and purchase another regular model for home use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best hands down! This pillow is comparably light to my exped however it is more comfortable. It packs down to almost nothing and weighs about the same. The fabric on the one side is uber nice to sleep on, and the pillow puffs up so your neck is not strained. And unlike most other lightweight pillows this one does not scooch out from beneath your head. It's a little pricer than some but believe me, well worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light weight and easy to fill and deflate I bought this just before going on a five horse back ride with my son's scout buddies in the mountains of West Texas. Wow super light and so easy to inflate and deflate and feather like weight. You could use this for a pillow or a seat when you have to pack light for backpacking, canoeing or horse bike riding for several days. My scoutmaster even used it for some back support when we were driving back home 500 miles to the Dallas area.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Pillow!!! I was looking for a small, compact, light weight pillow that had plenty of support. I have broad shoulders and sleep on my side so I needed something fairly thick to support my head. Inflates easily, soft to the touch and very packable! This was exactly what I was looking for in a pillow. Fits perfectly in my mummy bag so it was always right where it needed to be. Highly recommended!!

Can you wash this pillow!

Asked by: tdonihue
Yes, you can wash the Aeros Pillow Premium. Sea to Summit recommends washing the pillow by hand and letting it air dry. There’s no need to use any special type of soap. Regular laundry soap will work fine.

When would you choose between the two sizes?  I can't cross the pond to check them out! Thanks

Asked by: Camino Girasole
The regular dimensions are 14" x 10" x 5". Large is 16.5" x 11.5" x 5.5". The "Specs" tab also has the pillows weights.

I have a REI Joule mummy bag. I like the idea of the large size to have a bigger pillow for more comfort but will it not fit in my mummy hood?  Some comments say the large is no more comfortable than the regular. If so, why get a large?

Asked by: Highup
Some people prefer a larger pillow while others find the regular size is perfectly comfortable. It may be a matter of personal preference. The regular will fit in your hood but the large is slightly too wide.

How much weight can this pillow handle? I'm wondering if it would survive double-duty as a camp chair.

Asked by: Kap
Sea to Summit does not put any sort of weight capacity on the Aeros Pillow. They do not recommend using the pillow as a chair.
