Sea to Summit  Aeros Down Pillow

I got the regular size just based on my personal preference but if you like larger pillows I'd recommend sizing up. Once I was able to adjust the inflation properly to suit my needs it was incredibly comfortable. It packs down to basically nothing, about half the size of a can of soda. The down on the top of it just gave you a little extra comfort where you needed it. My only gripe is that the draw string for the stuff sack wasn't stitched into the actual stuff sack properly so it just pulled through leaving me with a bitter end of line hanging but everything still functions fine. The order came quick and would highly recommend the product.

Generally inflatable pillows are so-so for me. I'm a side sleeper, so I need thick-but-plush support for my head and neck. I was amazed at how this pillow performed, especially in comparison to several other inflatable pillows that I own. The large size is big enough to feel like my head won't fall off in the middle of the night, and the height is perfect for support. The loft at the top of the pillow provides softness and warmth, which feels much more like an actual pillow that you might typically use in your own bed. My wife was so jealous that I had to purchase one for her for our camping trips.

Bought the Ascent Down Sleeping bag 0*, Comfort Plus Insulated Air Sleeping Mat, Aeros Down Pillow as my sleep system for a Rainier summit attempt. Not only was I the envy of everyone else in the bunkhouse at Muir; 2 people in the bunkhouse were concerned I might be in serious medical trouble and had to check my breathing because I was sleeping so comfortably! Hardly anyone else slept due to the 70mph sustained winds outside, I slept very well. BTW, summit attempt was successful. Great company, awesome customer service and support

I bought my pillow on sale last fall, I have used it once at the airport on a multi flight trip. As such, I know that it was a great buy. 4 months later, I set it up on my front porch with the air pad, a couple of days later I head out to spend the night there and it will not hold air. I pulled out the patch kit from the air pad, figuring that I could patch the problem, but the leaks are from the seams at all four corners. I didn’t expect a malfunction, so have no proof of purchase. I hope that my sea to summit air pad fairs better.

Despite having a “pillow lock system” aka a soft micro fiber back I found this pillow impossible to keep in place and it really added a lot of frustration to my 10 day backpacking trip. I tried something new each night, even using my belt to attach the pillow to my pad. I would suggest the addition of some tabs on the side that can allow for a piece of elastic cord and a stopper to be attached, which would then secure the pillow to an air pad.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Extra comfort, comes with the small price of added weight. Great for car camping or an easy overnight. If I were to purchase again I would go with the regular/smaller size, but all things considered it still packs small and carries light! Setup is easy and stage inflation valve allows for east passage of air to deflate/inflate to your desired comfort! I like the down side for extra comfort and warmth, nice to have the synthetic side as well for a “cooler” experience.

I decided to get this pillow mostly because of how light it is, it does tick off all the things that I look for in an ultra light item. However, the noise it makes while trying to reposition it during the night is surprisingly loud. I am a light sleeper and will pay anything to get a good nights sleep while out in the back country. I have since purchased a synthetic foam filled pillow instead and will try it on my next adventure over the thanksgiving weekend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love all my Sea to Summit products. Thisbis actually my least favorite, and it is still four stars. It's a nice inflatable pillow. I was just a little disappointed that it didn't have a thicker down layer. Down isn't particularly heavy and, what with this being marketed as having a down layer, I thought it would be more than a skim coating. However, that is just based on my own preference. You may find it has just the right amount for you.
