Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grand Daddy of all coolers! I had been searching for a high performance cooler for some time. I finally came across the Yeti. It came with excellent feedback but I would judge for myself. My first experience was a recent car ride from Cincinnati to Florida, with and overnight stop along the way. I loaded the Yeti with cold beer (no ice) in Cincinnati. When I arrived in Florida some 22 hours later I opened the cooler to add ice. To my surprise the beer was still cold! Incredible. I added a large bag of ice that didn't fully melt for the entire week that I was in Florida! The Yeti is also advertised as being bear proof. Thank goodness I wasn't able to test it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely Durable Construction! I was rear ended this weekend by a pick up truck and I had my Yeti 50 Tundra on a trailer hitch cargo carrier. The Yeti completely absorbed the entire 15+mph impact of the wreck and prevented any damage to my SUV. Absolutely can't say how impressed I am with the strength and durability of the construction of this cooler! The driver of the pick up truck was so impressed that he said "I'm definitely going to buy a Yeti cooler now". Even though it won't properly close now due to the impact, it still held all my food and beverages cold for the weekend mountain trip! Now, I just have to replace this Yeti for a new one...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome for long car trips! We have been wanting a Yeti cooler for a long time and finally decided to splurge before our long drive up to MI this summer for vacation. I was taking meat and other perishable items and wanted to make sure they stayed cold the entire 2 day trip. Yeti did not disappoint!! We packed it with ice in ziplock bags and the ice was still frozen after 2 days in the car. Once we arrived in MI we used the Tundra 50 to store wine and beer for 2 weeks! It was always cold and we only had to add fresh ice a couple of times. We are thrilled with our purchase! Thanks Yeti for your amazing coolers! Now if you could make a sturdy lunch box for school/work that would be awesome!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It actually does what it claims to do I bought this cooler a couple of weeks ago and we used it to store all the beer for my dad's retirement party. That was on Saturday. The next Saturday I had a BBQ and had completely forgotten to drain the water and put new ice in. Low and behold, I opened it up and it was still half full of ice. A week later, after sitting in my garage, everything was still SUPER cold and there were actual ice chunks left. I couldn't believe it. I don't care if bears can't get into this--this is going to save me so much money on ice this summer! It is a tad bit on the heavy side, and the handles make it wonky to walk with, but overall, I love it and am super happy with it!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Too good! Sort of....... As a professional guide this get's used as a cooler, seat, casting platform, etc. My one complaint is that as the day goes on and the interior gets colder it seals too well. You can barely get the top open even with two hands. This is a problem when you are on a bonefish flat and the sound of a bouncing cooler is a critical problem. I found that if I loosen the drain plug and release the pressure it will open. I do not expect my customers to go through this drill every time they want a drink which is often in the spring and summer down here in the Florida Keys. This is my first Yeti and I would like to know if this is common or just my particular cooler.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable, Attractive and Tough. Basically AWESOME I bought this yeti after being on the fence regarding spending the money and getting a good cooler.  After seeing and using my friends for a weekend fishing I decided to pull the trigger.  I have never been been happier with a decision like this.  Besides using it for camping and keeping water cold while on site at work I find excuses to use such as putting groceries in it while running errands (just so it gets more use).  I prefer this model since it is deeper and when you have taller objects it does not interfere with the lid closure.  I chose ice blue just to get something different and in hopes of putting it on my future boat knowing that this cooler will last.  You won't regret this decision, now or years down the road!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every dollar I'm just a 21 year old blue collar guy who enjoys bass fishing on the weekends. I started by purchasing a Coleman cooler thinking it would work. After only a couple fishing trips, the lid snapped off. I knew then I would just have to save up and buy a yeti. I later got the Tundra 50 and have never looked back. It was worth every dime. It goes from my house to my truck to my boat and its handles all of the throwing around without a problem, while also keeping the ice. I am now a yeti fanatic. I have several shirts, koozies, the rambler and lowball. I am now saving up for hopper! Thank you Yeti for making coolers that last for the blue collar weekend warrior like me!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect birthday gift and vacation cooler I purchased the Yeti Tundra 50 for my husband's 51st birthday. He had tried numerous times to win a Yeti through a local car dealership, so it was a perfect surprise gift for him. I gave him the Yeti the morning before we went on a 2,500 mile summer vacation with the family. He was ecstatic! The basket on this cooler is fabulous, and it allowed us to travel with sandwiches, cheese, boiled eggs, and mayonnaise packets. We enjoyed making daily lunches and saved money, also! One day the Yeti lasted four days without additional ice! Thank you, Yeti, for providing such a quality product. I am excited to purchase the Yeti travel bag next!

Are Yeti coolers waterproof (for example if a bear puhes into a lake)?

Asked by: X CTRY
These coolers are not designed to be waterproof, but they do seal in a way that they will not take on water when temporarily submerged.

Does the cooler come with a dry goods basket? The ones on the Yeti web site do but REI does not indicate that its coolers do.
