Rated 1 out of 5 by from Well half the product worked I used this product in the manner described on the package itself. The product comes with a clamp designed to carry the lock when not in use. It gives several suggestions on where to place in this case my bicycle. I tightened the two screws around the seat post where it made its new home. Fast forward: I am commuting to work (bike lock is an essential) and I hit a bump in the road the clamp cleanly breaks in half and falls off unbeknownst to me. I get to work no way to lock my bike up. After work I retrace my route no able to find the lock just the clamp. I talked with REI and they refused to return it because I didn't have the lock. If I had the lock I wouldn't need to return it. I do not recommend this to any friend/enemy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No Match for Chain Cutters This lock is easy to use, lightweight and flexible. Unfortunately, chain cutters cut through it like butter. One bike down...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The locking part works well. However The lock works very well. I have had two of the small plastic "T"'s that hold this to my bike frame break. This is a real weak area and you should also hold it on with a small bungie. I lost one on a ride but some nice person put it on a post so the next time I rode this route I saw it and got it back. However, even REI could not help me get a new holder so it would attach to the bike frame again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from cut like butter literally the first time I used this new lock, my new cannondale was stollen. I had been living in a low bike crime area, now moved to a high bike crime area so i know I should have used a bike lock but still.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works smoothly, mounts securely The mounting kit was easy to put on, and the twist on and off mounting is clever. There is a tab that must be pressed to remove. The cable wraps up neatly and has a velcro strap to hold it coiled. I'm happy with it for locking in a public place for a short time or in our apartment garage.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Gone in 60s / Not suitable for bikes Cons: Doesn't protect your bike: Used this without a U-lock for two hours at a busy Metro station. My 5 year-old Kona was gone when I came back. Pros: Large, easy to see numbers; easy to reset, no scratch casing; but none of that really matters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, so good. Seems like a good low-security lock. You of course should only be using U-locks, but for a quick lock up to help keep honest people honest, this is a good one. I have had two Krypto coil locks that have both broken over time, so hopefully this one lasts a while longer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid lock! Lightweight for its size I got this for my city bike where I need a good lock. It's a nice long cable and pretty light for its size. Easy to reset combination. I recommend this for anyone. Mounts nicely to the seat post too!

How do I reset a used Doberman#8030 coiled cable lock when I have the old code?

Asked by: Judy
You can reset the combination by entering the old code and opening the lock. Once open, you will find a reset collar on the inside of the side with the number dials. Turn the collar clockwise until it stops. Once the collar is turned you can set the combination to a new setting of your choice. Once you have a new combination, turn the reset collar back in a counter clockwise direction until it stops. Your lock combination is now reset.
