3 days later, deters a theft attempt
It worked as expected, university thieves deterred by cable lock. They made an attempt but failed.

Easily cut with bolt cutter
I purchased this as an "added protection" for my bike, as we have many that we have locked on out porch (each of us own 2-3 bikes), and sometimes it's easier to loop them all together. I live in Burlington, Vermont mind you (by no means a "major US city") and looped the open end through a much beefier Kryptonite Series 2 chain lock. The bike that was locked using the Series 2 was fine, but the thief made off with a brand new, high-end mountain bike that was locked up using this one. Silly and naïve on my part, I guess. But I had just purchased the bike and waited a couple weeks too long to buy a proper lock. Mistake! So, just be aware - I don't really know what this does to actually protect your bike. There are many other thefts in Burlington where the person comes around in the evening and clips these flex cables. See photo for how easily they made it through the cable lock. I'm about to buy a Series 4 Kryptonite bike lock to protect my bike from further potential theft. When you look at it as a one-time purchase, it costs relatively nothing to protect your bike. Far cheaper than even an okay renter's insurance policy and so worth it. I am thankful for having the Series 2 lock on my other bike, but this flex cable was apparently useless. Really, it's worth it people - don't think... oh, $30 vs. $50 vs. $80 vs $100 - it's a one-time purchase to protect your bike. If you even own a bike worth $500, it's so worth it to just buck up and get the Series 2 or 4 locks. Those actually come with a protection policy from Kryptonite if the locks are compromised by a thief. Spend the money!

Useless for overnight security. Can be easily cut.

Useless for extended security. Mine was cut just outside my front door last night. It was so easy for them, the dog didn't even hear them cut or take the bike. Good for quick trips into town. I love that I could front wheel to frame AND had enough length to lock to stationary object. Pay more for the LARGE LINK CHAIN. I've heard they can still freeze & break that, but it's much harder.

Cut in a NY minute

Not suitable for NYC poopy neighborhoods. Luckily the Fahgettaboudit Mini U-Lock saved the day.

No Complaints

I have been using this combined with a Kryptonite U-lock. The four foot tether is quite easy to loop through the wheel and onto the lock. I feel like my bike is quite secure. The velcro fastener for transport is a nice feature to add to the portability. I just toss it in a backpack and go.

Additional Security to enhance a U-Lock

I purchased this cable to secure my front tire to my Kryptonite U-Lock. This cable is well made and high quality. Its also the perfect length. The experts say you should spend 10% of the cost of your bike on a bike lock.

Minimal length to lock both tires.

Well made and does the job, but this would not fit through both of the 27.5" quick-release tires on my mountain bike, plus a post to lock to, if it wasn't for the space in the padlock to (just barely) close the gap. Even one or two more inches would have been handy. No extra weight and tangles, though.

Great cable

This cable has really secured my bike and wheels. I feel a lot more confident leaving my bike locked up with the cable and I lock combo. Easy to use. It comes with a great Velcro strap to keep it wound up when not in use. But I’d like some sort of way to store it on the bike while riding.

Good bike lock cable

This cable is sturdy and just the right length for my usage. Fairly heavy, so not appropriate to carry when biking.
