Rated 5 out of 5 by from works as advertised Used for the first time this past weekend for a night in Scenic Beach State Park in WA state. Plenty of moisture under the footprint that did not affect us in the tent. Some previous reviews indicated difficulty determining which side up, I checked the grommets and compared to up side on tent grommets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Footprint can save you a lot of trouble My first time to use this footprint I did not realize that the tent was sitting on a site with some pretty sticky soil- only noticed on shoes after tent up. The footprint was laid down correctly. When I looked at the bottom of the footprint after taking down the tent it had a lot of dark soil stuck to the fabric and had that occurred with the tent it would have been a real pain to wash the bottom of the tent and dry it. Instead I just laid out the footprint on the grass, sprayed it with the hose and with a brush washed off all the soil and stains - then just dried it on a line. It would have been a major effort if that was the tent bottom I had to wash. Footprint fits well, protects the tent and is worth every penny!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, But..... We bought this footprint (as opposed to just using a tarp) specifically because it fits the Kingdom 4 we have. It connects easily to the tent. We did have a little bit of difficulty figuring out which side goes down and which goes up (I know, I know). Here's where the real issues happened - during extensive rain. Every single time it rained heavily, our entire tent floor got wet. We discovered that water was hitting the side of our tent and getting in-between the footprint and the floor of the tent. We often were stuck in campsites located at the bottom of a hill or in a flood plain. We camped for 2 months and it rained about 75% of the time. We were constantly having to take everything out of our tent so we could lift the tent off the footprint to dry the top of the footprint. Luckily we were travelling with a fan so we could get air flowing between the 2 layers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality footprint This is a good, durable footprint for our Kingdom tent. My only wish is that they offered a longer one that would cover the footprint of the tent and vestibule.

Is a footprint better then using a thick tarp?  Any advantages to the footprint?

Asked by: Robert
While a standard tarp can be used, the biggest advantages of this footprint are the fact that it is cut to the size and shape of the Kingdom 4 and the fact that it attaches directly to the poles of the tent itself.

Can you wash it in a washing machine?

Asked by: News Junkie
We do not recommend washing this footprint in the washing machine. Hand washing or spot cleaning is a better way to go.
