Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, confusing instructions As with all Thule products, this rack system shows that the engineers are always innovating and making good products great. I just wish they hired better technical writers to edit the assembly instructions. There were separate instruction sheets for the bars, foot pack, and fit kit. A single document would have been less confusing. Also, they can do away with the X(mm) and X(inch) measurements and provide only the X(scale) ones and suddenly the instructions are clearer. Despite the initial difficulties in working through the instructions, the rack assembles easily, attaches swiftly and securely to the car, and is highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well engineered, terrible instructions When I first opened the boxes for my Rapid Traverse foot packs and fit kit, I looked through the instructions and was a little dismayed. The instructions are all pictorial - no written directions. Trying to decipher the pictures made me feel like I was taking an IQ test and failing. I strongly recommend that you go to the internet and look up videos on installing this product. I found several great how-to videos that were specific to my vehicle (2011 Honda Fit). After watching those a couple of times, installation was a breeze. Once I was familiar with the product, I was very impressed with the quality of engineering with this product. Very well thought-out and manufactured. Some of the other reviews mentioned poor fit based upon the instruction specifications. That was not my experience, the specified dimensions fit my car like a glove, and it hasn't damaged my vehicle. I would deduct a half-star from the rating for the poor instructions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great for small cars or hybrids! I have 07 Toyota Hybrid the battey in the trunk takes up have the space in there. So I needed a way to put a baby stroller and bagges for a long trip. I also bought the tahoe 887 bag from them also from las vages to albuquerque there were no issues. The only thing you have to take it of at night so no one can steal it, there no locks on it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product Easy to install, but hard to remove. Instructions could be more detailed, but it was fine. The foot packs actually ruined my roof's rain gutter. So the numbers in the instructions are a little off.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice rack, not easy to install! This is a nice rack, but the measurments for the installation, which are vehicle specific, were awful. It took numerous adjustments and a lot of time ot get the rack to correctly fit on the car. They are difficult to follow as well. Luckily I had put on other racks, so I was able to figure it out eventually.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fit great on a 2008 Prius Bought these to put a roof box on a 2008 Prius. It took some time to get it installed since it seemed like the measurements in the instructions for my car were off but I got it installed in 90 minutes or so. Protip: Get a friend to help you so you don't spend the entire time walking back and forth around your car. I've been driving with a Thule Force XL on my Aerobars for a few weeks now and love it. Feet are super solid and feel confident at highway speeds.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Another quality product from Thule I imagine it would have been easier buying an entire kit, but I already had bars from another vehicle and only needed the feet. Cannot use these alone though. You also need to order the correct fit kit for your vehicle. Once I had all the correct parts, installation was just like every other Thule product I've owned. I have every bit of confidence that my bike and roof box are securely fastened to my vehicle. Would definitely recommend!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great on car with AeroBlade Bars Solid build. Love how easy it is the "snap on/off" to adjust the AeroBlade Bars. First set i saw in Concord CA store had been used (you can tell because the "stickers" used to designate Front/Right, Front/Left, etc were already pasted on inside foot packs) and was last one. I understand that this happens at retail sometimes. I ended up driving to Berkeley CA store and got a brand new unopened/sealed set.

The Thule Fit Guide said I needed an Aeroblade with Rapid Traverse Foot Pack for a 2012 Nissan Rogue. Will I need Fit Clips as well? If so, what size?

Asked by: cheyenneskies
In addition to the Aeroblade bars and Rapid Traverse foot pack, your vehicle requires a 1587 fit kit:

My garage has low clearance.  Approximately how much height would this add to my car (2008 Lexus IS 250)?  How much height difference compared to the Thule square bars?

Asked by: vtwong
Exact height dimensions of the Rapid Traverse Feet with bars have not been provided by the vendor. We suggest contacting Thule directly for additional information.

I have a 2016 VW Tiguan with nothing on the roof. Would this work? I eventually would want to attach a ski rack. If this does work, what else would I need to complete the set up. Thanks!

Asked by: MMary
Yes, these will work on your Tiguan. You will also need 53" Thule AeroBlade Bars and the Traverse 1621 Fit Kit: We also suggest locks to lock this system down to the vehicle:

I have a 2008 Ford Edge w no exsisting roof racks or sunroof. I would like to install a Thule roof rack (4 feet) and the aero bars if possible. I plan on transporting a kayak or 2. What system do I need? Should I opt for the square bars for more strength?

Asked by: Edgeman
The following Thule products are required for your 2008 Ford Edge with a naked roof. You will also need the number 1530 Thule Traverse Fit Kit. Both the Aeroblades and Square Bars have a maximum load capacity of 110 when installed on your vehicle.

Will this fit a 2008 Toyota Matrix? The roof does have a raised ridge running from front to back, but it does not have an edge or lip to clamp anything to.

Asked by: Suzee
If you plan to use 47 inch Thule AeroBlade Bars then yes, the Rapid Traverse Foot Pack will work with your 2008 Toyota Matrix. You would also need to purchase the Thule Traverse Fit Kit and select #1512 from the dropdown box. If you are planning on using 50 inch Thule Square Bars, you would need to purchase the Thule Traverse Foot Pack. The same Fit Kit would apply for your vehicle.

how or what do they attach to the roof? I have a 2015 chevy Silverado 2500 crew cab, and want to get a rack for the cab for the front end of my 17' sea kayak , I have a tower for the rear end of it .

Asked by: logan park
The Fit Kit is what will hold the foot pack to your vehicle. These are specific to your vehicle. The challenge at the moment is that Thule currently does not have a solution for your Silverado 2500 crew cab. Yakima however does. Since you are using a tower in the rear, you would only need to purchase a 2 pack in the towers. Yakima is also recommending the 58 inch load bars. The Q Clips are required to hold the towers to your vehicle. You would need to order the 07Q model when chosing your size. This is specific to your vehicle. You will only need to order one pair.
