Warm and Comfortable

I have lots of black gloves that look similar but are not warm. These gloves are warm and comfortable. I used these gloves on a trip to the Antarctic Peninsula. I wore waterproof mitts over them in the zodiac and wore these gloves alone on land. It was easy to use my camera with the gloves on. When I got them wet, they dried for use the next day. Slight negative: One seam has a small rip that happened in only a few uses; however, I like the gloves enough to get out my needle and thread!

Warm, but fragile

Bought these as a thin layer while doing some summits just to keep my fingers warm. Should have expected the fleece material to be VERY susceptible to rough surfaces. Did a single 2 hour summit and when we got to the top I had holes in the pointer finger on my left hand. Gloves were brand new when I started. Did a great job keeping my hands pretty warm, but the palm material should be extended up the fingers and a little over the tips. That would have been the perfect lightweight glove.

Stiching Unravelling

This was a great glove for the price. It works well as a liner or stand alone glove on cold, dry climbs or just around town. Problem is that the stitching is unraveling along several finger seams. I've had the gloves for less than a year and used them on only a few climbs with ice axe. I plan to exchange or repair them and hope they hold up. Last note, it you're looking for "style," these gloves look like an isotoner-style glove. Simple black...nothing fashionable about them...but that doesn't really matter.

Great gloves!

I love these gloves to wear around the city and to hike in. I live in Seattle, and tried several gloves before these, and have to say they are the best. They are windproof, which is the key in wet-humid climates, look slick for city attire, and fit tight enough so they don't feel bulky. They also kept my hands warm in cold Colorado temperatures (where I'm from and originally bought them). I have small hands, but long fingers, and the men's medium fit me perfectly. These gloves are highly recommended for someone looking to buy everyday warm gloves that manage to be somewhat cute at the same time. Enjoy!

Stitching issue

Returned mine. There is a irritating barb that's formed where the stitching meets on the thumb side of the index finger's knuckle. I felt it on my right hand after about 30 minutes on my work route. Felt for it on the left hand and discovered the same barb. I'm thankful it wasn't discovered after handling trekking poles on the first mile of an ascent. Don't by online. Check in a store for the barb by pinching the glove on the side where the tip of the thumb meets the knuckle.

My Favorite Overall Glove

These are my favorite midweight gloves I've found so far. I absolutely love the goat leather palms - they add traction, warmth & strength. Great to wear alone - they are an excellent barrier to the cold and the wind. Though not waterproof, remember, they claim only to be midweight. They are thin enough that I am able to do detailed woodworking in them in my oh-so-cold garage in the wintertime, allowing me enough flexibility to shave, carve and embed while keeping my fingers warm enough that they do not freeze up from the cold. In very cold weather, where I am going to be spending extended time outdoors, or in biting rain or snow, I just wear them underneath my regular gloves. I've owned mine over a year now and they have yet to wear out. They do get dirty, and to better sustain their life expectancy, I hand wash and line dry them. I've done below freezing camping in them, and plenty of winter hiking and casual use. On a final note: Not only are these Black Diamond Midweight Gloves practical, warm and well worth the [$] price tag, they look sleek, cool and contemporary. They meet the high demands I've come to know and expect from Black Diamond products.

Quality light gloves and /or for Layers

I really enjoy these gloves, they are very light and very warm. They work great as liners or as a combination under another glove or mitt. They only disadvantage would be is that since they are fleece they do wear out faster then I would like but then again I have used these for some hiking which turned to minor climbing in rain. Overall They are a great glove for [$]

Great Lightweight Glove

Love these liners. They're my go-to glove for hiking, backpacking, and backcountry skiing when I'm climbing and hot. They're light, take up very little room in my pack, and have stood up to over a year of pretty regular use, unlike my previous fleece liner glove by Mountain Hardwear, which did not wear well. Unfortunately I lost one of the gloves yesterday in the backcountry. I'm definitely buying another pair.

Not too bad

Not a bad pair of gloves. Warm down to about 30 degree and not so bulky that your hands feel unwieldy. However, not good for anything that requires more than basic dexterity, not water-proof, and they are not the most durable gloves out there. However, the only branding is on the cuff of the glove so they are great for military as long as you don't plan on actually doing work in them.
