Bad Quality
Used 5 times for light hiking in tue winter and already stitching allowed for two holes. Black Diamond typically provides quality in their product but not these. Save your money and get the Smart Wool version which I had for 4 years and heavy use with no stitching or tearing issues
The Perfect Cold Weather Running Glove
I have worn these gloves on several cool to cold weather runs ranging from 3 to 7 miles in temps from the upper 40's to low 20's (F) and these gloves worked perfectly. They're lightweight, snug yet comfortable, they allow me to still interact with my watch and my phone, and when the temps and wind chill drop, the built in wind shell traps in the warmth. I have returned from a long, cold run with warm hands which. The built in storage for the shell makes it very convenient to tuck it away when not in use. I truly love these gloves.
Had high hopes but poor quality
I purchased these gloves with high hopes, but unfortunately, they didn’t hold up as expected. After just two months of moderate use, the stitching began to fail. At first, I noticed a small fray, and before long, the stitching completely came apart along the seam. For a product that’s meant to withstand regular wear, this was extremely disappointing. The gloves were comfortable and fit well when I first got them, but the lack of durability really overshadowed the initial quality. I understand that wear and tear can happen, but after such a short period of use, I was expecting much better. I won’t be buying these again and can’t recommend them if you need something that will last long-term.
Great for winter running in Utah
They're compact and light. The wind shield stores nicely in the wrist when not in use. Definitely a step up from basic gloves for running in cold weather.
LOVE THEM!
Got these for long distance winter running, alpine touring, and XC skiing. I usually run on the warm side but freeze once I stop or the wind hits me. These gloves have been the perfect thing. They are light enough that I don’t get sweaty in them. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the wind shell on them- it adds protection w/out added weight/warmth. The shell piece stows away in its own little pocket on the wrist part so it isn’t flopping around and annoying/catching on things when not in use. The wrist also has an opening for my watch face to show through!
Perfect for cold weather training
Great ability to adapt and keep hands comfortable during cold weather
Caution - tear easily!
These gloves with wind protection are awesome and work incredibly well. But warning all that the outside cover tears easily. Within two weeks the seems were ripping and it's only gotten worse. I keep wearing them because they're great - but bummed that the shell protection is almost at the point where I'd have to cut them off and that's not why I ordered these.
Well Thought Out
I use these for trail running and really like the versatility of the glove and wind hood. I often find myself starting out with the wind hood then removing and tucking it inside once my hands warm up. Part of me wishes the hood was detachable but I think that would open it up to losing them somewhere on the trail . . .
Great for cold morning runs!
The Deploy Wind Hood Gloves are the perfect lightweight glove for early morning Alpine runs! Just enough warmth with the added weather protection of the wind hood. They are also great for warmer spring ski tours when one doesn't know what the weather might throw around, from sunny skies to light rain and wind.
So warm!
I love these! They're so warm and if my hands get too warm, I take the hood off. My only complaint is I wish there was a place to tuck the hood into. It's hard to get them to slip into the glove when you aren't using them. FYI the sizing is women's, even though the top menu says "mens".
