Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic in all light conditions This is my third pair of Natives now- (the first broke in a bike crash, the second had an eyepiece snap and were replaced under warranty by Native), and I love these glasses. They are very light. They stay put on your head. I find them to be ideal for a smaller framed face. (Is there a women's version? If so, I might have the women's ones.) The eye pieces are super easy to swap out and easy to pack in a jersey pocket for long rides. I've always felt comfortable riding in any conditions with the lens options available. In fact, I like these so much I got my spouse a pair of Natives for his birthday!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent These glasses have very good protection for road biking (good at blocking the wind). They are stylish. The sides of the frames near the temples are a little thinner and away from the face, which helps reduce sunglasses tan. They are very lightweight without feeling flimsy. The lenses are easily changed but won't come out on their own. Since they come out when you want them to, it's easy to remove the lenses in order to thoroughly clean them. Also comes with a decent fabric case (bag) as well as a pretty good hardshell case.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mirror coating not worth extra money I work outside and wear these sunglasses 6 to 10 hours a day. They are very comfortable but don't pay extra money for the "reflex" coating. It wears off in less than 3 months time. [...]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice, comfortable, and sturdy, but I miss the SS. I bought a pair of Dash SS sunglasses almost a decade ago, and they served me well (almost -see below) until I lost them a few weeks ago. They've been discontinued in favor of the XP model, which holds onto the head a little more tightly, but that also means that they're a little bit more difficult to quickly put on without using two hands (to separate the ends of the arms). Also, beware of what might be a common failure mode - the rubber nose pads. After I had the SS for a few months, one of them broke, and I took advantage of the warranty to get the frames replaced. I had no problem with the replacement pair for 8 years (they were still in great shape, except for some peeling paint, when I lost them). The XPs that I bought had the same nose pad problem appear within 5 days, so I exchanged them. Hopefully my replacement XPs lasts me many years, because I really like the style and the fit!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like em! Best shades I ever owned. Fit and finish is superb. The lenses are still scratch-free and the frames glassy smooth despite a year's worth of considerable abuse. Mine are just as likely bouncing around my glove box or in my workout bag as in the case. They're so light I forget I'm wearing them sometimes. And they stay on at speeds up to 100mph on my motorcycles. Negatives, the firm-sided case is too large (but a microfleece bag is provided). Oh, and the lense edges are not polished. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved my eyes when I stepped on a rake I am a semi-retired TV news cameraman. My eyes are important to me. These glasses saved my eyes recently. While doing lawn-work I left a rake laying on the ground. I stepped on the head of the rake and as a result, took the handle of the rake directly to my face with incredible force. I was wearing the Dash XP glasses. The glasses were blown off of my face and the lenses were thrown 10' in two different directions. I didn't even get a black eye. Yes I was lucky, very lucky that I wasn't wearing glass lenses like my old Maui Jim's. They would have been destroyed and I would have probably gotten glass slivers in my eyes. This is my second pair of Native XP's. I seem to have lost the first pair. I purchased a second pair and when the reflective blue lenses began to fail, [...] simply handed me a new pair. The yellow lenses are worthless to me. I wish they would bundle both the brown and gray polarized lenses in the original kit. Oh, yeah. I keep finding myself surprised that I am still wearing the glasses. Very comfortable!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't leave home without 'em I won't leave the house without my sunglasses so these get put thru the wringer when it comes to abuse. They stay in a jacket pocket or on my head as long as I'm awake. I've dropped them on a few occasions but they have only scatched when I would expect anyhting else to have done the same or worse. I like that they are light and stay put when I'm wearing them. I have a rather large head and often think glasses look too small on my face but I really like the look of these on. For over 5 years I have had been wearing Natives of several differnt styles and the current Dash XPs have been in service for about a year, I sat on the first ones after having those for over a year, which brings me to the only downside in my opinion which is the $30 price tag for warranty replacement. It's not because I sat on them cause I've replaced 3 pairs thru the warranty in the past. While I dont like it its still cheaper to replace them twice than the last pair of Oakley Flack Jackets I bought when I broke my Natives since I couldn't find a dealer nearby. I really don't consider another brand anymore when I go to get new sunglasses.

Has anyone tried putting these lenses into a pair of Native Dash SS frames? Dash SS lenses are stupid expensive at the moment, so I wonder if these would fit.

Asked by: Thru Hiker Wanabe
The lenses for the Dash XP are unfortunately too big for the frames of the Dash SS.
