Rated 5 out of 5 by from Your feet have never been drier When I started wearing wool socks instead of cotton socks, it was a revelation. When I started wearing silk liners with my wool socks, it was another revelation as big as the first. I wear them EVERY TIME I wear long socks. Not just on hikes. I can wear these with my wool socks for 16 hours, and my feet smell like I just washed them. Zero odor, zero wetness. When I wear silk liners, I hardly ever have to wash my wool socks. They simply do not smell. The liners do stay a bit dingy looking even after washing, but I have had no problems at all with durability. I've worn some liners probably 100 times or more, and they're still going strong.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Silk Liner's Are the Way to Go These socks are fantastic. I need a little extra protection and reduced friction in my mountaineering boots, and these socks do the trick great. I've tried traditional polyester liners and they're too thick and rub. These socks are great. The only thing you have to remember is they wear out quick, so you have to replace them - for me roughly once per season. However, there's nothing else that performs like these do. The only problem I have with these socks is they run VERY small. I sized up to an XL (usually a L, but those were way too tight), and could probably do with a little more extra room. Other than that, I highly recommend these to anyone else who has sock issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Thing That Happened to My Hike What can I say about it other than it is the best thing that has happened to my hike?! I used them for the first time backpacking (same pair the whole weekend) under my smartwool socks and I did not get any blisters, not even a hotspot. They stayed dry and feel seamless (no annoying seam on the toes or heel). The only con I noticed was that because they are thin it looks like they may wear quickly but i haven't had any problems yet. They are great for daily use too and work well with those dress shoes that make feet uncomfortable and sweaty. I highly recommend these! They are worth every cent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the ONE I packed a 20-25 lb pack for 4, 9 and 7 miles on 3 consecutive days on Olympic National Park mountain trails. These didn't bunch nor did they rub my feet as some other liner socks do. The high elastic fiber in these helped them stick to my feet as liners should. The friction occurs between the liner sock and the outer sock or the boot rather than between my skin and the outer sock. My feet are designated for Large. My curiosity drove me to buy a medium as well. Both fit me well. Again, that elastic content was the factor making both a good fit. For me these work better than Fox River X-Static and Smartwool liners. If they wear out "prematurely", then they will have done their job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love these socks! These socks keep my feet warm, even when wet! I wore them underneath my dive booties in Monterey, and my feet didn't go numb for the first time in 10 years of cold-water diving! I also wore them for 12 hours in Lost Soldier's Cave, and even though my shoes were wet and muddy the whole time, my feet stayed warm. They are thin enough to wear under climbing shoes on cold days, and small enought to stuff into your pack for emergencies. They are thin and light for warm-weather sports, too! I'm stocking up on extra pairs. You can't beat the price for versatility and comfort!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product, size runs large I bought a few pairs of these to use as liners with the REI expedition weight merino wool hikers. They are lightweight, comfortable, and my feet stay dry and comfortable. I use them for hiking as liner socks. They are quite long. I wear a woman's 9 - 10 shoe size (I have long narrow feet) and the mediums are far too long (the spot made for the heel comes up to my ankle). Fortunately, they are not to the point of being baggy, so I still use them. My next batch will be smalls.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Base Layer Sock I took two pair of these socks on a 7 day September elk hunt in New Mexico. I alternated pairs daily, wearing them beneath light wool hiking socks inside my Asolo Pumori boots. I was covering 6-10 miles per day, mostly off trail, in daytime temperatures around 75°F. I credit these liner socks with keeping me blister free throughout the entire trip. I was thoroughly impressed with how well they held up after many miles over multiple days and continued to wick sweat away from my skin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from better than I expected My cousin suggested I try hiking with silk liners to prevent blisters, so I bought a pair to try on a four day backpacking trip. They were way better than I expected! I didn't get any blisters the whole trip, they wicked moisture away much better than the synthetic socks, and they dried quickly. I went back and bought two more pairs after the trip.

Would these be good to wear alone hiking? I will be in very warm climate hiking long distances daily and the idea of liners and wool sock are making me sweat.
