Quality has gone downhill.

Quality has gone ridiculously downhill. Piling on the pants right out of the package. ....

Great pants if you don't care about pilling!

Pro: Fits great, feels great, awesome for climbing! Con: Pills like crazy. Yes, I climb with it. Yes, it's pilling literally EVERYWHERE, places where there is no possible way there's abrasion from climbing harness or contact with surfaces. I pill shave these pants almost as much as I shave my face... So far, I haven't seen any weak spots in it, but the pill fabric has to come from somewhere...

Sturdy pants, which starting pilling

Great pants so far, comfortable and nice to hike in. Only issue is the pilling - which started after a couple hikes and a wash (in cold water). Starts from above the knees and down the front to cuffs.. so am thinking its due to walking through grass or brush. I've owned many pants, first time owning Prana. My Prana shorts are not pilling.

One of my favorites

I am completely happy with these pants and can't wait until they go on sale again! I'm looking at the other colors

comfortable fit but poor quality

Its a shame that I did not listen to other reviews on these pants. They fit well and are comfortable, but that's as far as these pants go in terms of positive review. I have only worn and washed these once, and there is pilling on the legs, frayed stitching, and signs of wear that I would not expect from such an expensive item. I have a pair of cheap amazon pants that have lasted two years without this kind of wear. As others have stated, the original zion pants were of much higher quality. I got these on sale for over half off, and they are still not worth keeping. Between the fabric coming apart at the seams, the lack of pockets, the pilling, and the plastic button, I do not expect these to hold up over time. I have already requested a refund. I would try the REI trailmade pants instead. They fit better and have way more pockets (if that interests you).

not for me

I was looking for tech pants that can be worn at work as well as casually. Turned out these are a bit too informal for work. I really like the Kuhl pants. They work well for outdoors as well as for office work.
