I've owned Prana pants/shorts for years and have LOVED them. I went down one waist size recently and bought several news pants and I'm so sad to see that the new material is TERRIBLE! Just wearing the pants as office pants sitting in a chair or doing white collar work they have been getting snags all over. My old Prana pants don't have a single snag and saw hard use for years. This new product is very disappointing and I'm shocked that Prana would sell such inferior products. If someone at Prana had worn these new pants for a week they would have realized the new material is garbage. I emailed customer support and received a reply saying that they have no current plans to change material and are collecting feedback on the product. Hopefully this feedback that I will never buy another article of clothing made with this material gets into their data. Sad to have to find a different brand but if they don't clearly see the issue with these new pants then that is a very, very bad sign. Hope this review helps others not waste money on a product that will come apart very quickly with the most minimal use. I've never owned a pair of pants that snag so easily, I don't wear delicate pantyhose but seems similar, I just counted 15 snags in a pair that I've worn less than 6 times, how Prana thinks they can sell this as outdoor gear is beyond me. Sadly I just bought 5 pair of pants and they all have this issue, I'll post photos from three different ones, three different cuts and styles, material all the same poor quality. They look good and fit great but the poor material is not acceptable.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Brion pant is very comfortable to wear. The fabric is flexible and lightweight, which makes them an easy go-to option to quickly put on and run to the store or go out for an evening. The front pocket bags are mesh, which was a nice surprise. Since they're a lightweight pant, I wouldn't wear them during the winter months. The fit was what I was expecting and felt true to size. I might opt for the slim version next time as the bottom of the pants are a bit wider than I would prefer.
Hi, I bought a pair size 36/32 of your style #19669771 PO#34372-00 about 6-8 months ago. The problem I have is I really don't wear them that much and the backside of the pant fabric is wearing to the point they can't be worn. I wanted to send a couple of pictures but couldn't upload them. Click on add images and only a box comes up.
I love the original fabric of the Brion pants; this new fabric is of poor quality. I bought multiple pairs of the Brion II and the new fabric does not stand up to office life and most definitely wouldn’t while hiking in my opinion.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I already wish that all of my pants were made by Prana. That’s how good these pants feel! The fabric is unlike anything I’ve ever worn, and I love how flexible and comfortable they are in any situation. I feel like I would want to wear these to the gym if I had to! They are moisture-wicking and I really appreciate the belt loops, button and zipper since those are the parts that tend to get the most use as you pull them on and off. The opening at the bottom of the legs is a little bigger than I would expect for a slim fitting pair, but they still look good over a nice pair of dress or casual shoes. I need more!!
I have 8 pairs of the Brion I pants and absolutely love them. Best pants ever. They are almost bulletproof. PrAna changed the fabric in the Brion II and now they suck. They get snagged easily and are permanently damaged. The fabric used shimmers in the sunlight, which is strange to see as I walk around. Extreme disappointment. Totally not worth the money. Please bring back the Brion I!!!
Second time trying these on the standard cut. Wanted to get a cleaner looking pant than the original stretch Zion but still have the stretch Zion fabric. Looks like they should fit like the Bridger jeans. They are tight randomly halfway down the thigh to the knee and I am a lean dude my thighs shouldn't have an issue fitting in a standard cut pant. I have 3 pairs of the Brion II shorts that all fit really well. Not sure why the pants all of a sudden are so much of a different cut. Just make them fit like the shorts or model them after the Bridgers jeans, do that and you would have some bomb pants.
For the last five years I have only purchased Prana pants, starting from Stretch Zion and lately every version of the Brion pant. One concern I’ve had with the Brion pants is the inconsistency in sizing. I buy 30x30 and some pants are wider or tighter at the waist. The pants purchased a couple of years ago started to come with loose threads. Now these Brion II pants seem to be of a lighter and more shimmery material that wrinkles easlily. There are many more loose or sticking out threads. Also, the standard fit seems a bit tighter in the thighs than before. What felt like a robust product now seems like a mass manufactured product. I’ll probably be looking for a new favorite pair of pants.
These are skin tight on my thighs and Im skinny as a rail. The waist fits fairly similar to other Prana pants. The length seems short compare to others but that may just be that the tight legs don't "fall" as well as they get bunched up on my stick thin thighs. These pants are billed as being durable and my one day of use seemed to show no wear even after some granite offwidth climbing. However, the material feels really thin. Im not convinced they will be durable. Also, these are probably best as non-climbing pants as you have to use a belt on them. If you get them skin tight to avoid that you will have embarrassing package issues I suspect.
Soft and very flexible fabric. Great for climbing, a lot of freedom of movement. I wish they had the slim version inseam 28 as well since it's too lose and if i don't roll them up i struggle to see my feet. But overall they're great pants.
