Great for cities & trains as well as planes
We've had 2 eagle creek backs before and found them very hard wearing. This is a sleek, classy & robust wee bag, works for European airline carry-on, the cobbled streets of Istanbul, the dirt path to the Corsican beach shack Airbnb, and the overhead train rack on the Amsterdam intercity. Wipes clean in seconds, looks good anywhere.
broke the first time- en route
The first time I used this suitcase, I arrived in Riga, Latvia with my suitcase zipper broken and my luggage completely open. Who knows what was missing, because the top was completely open and the zipper was closed. The way the zipper is designed, it doesn’t handle any weight placed on it, which doesn’t work for suitcases. It wasn’t a one-off because it happened on the bus as well. I’m glad this was a shirt trip and I saved my old suitcase. Do not buy this!
The perfect carry-on
I needed a small carry-on that fit Icelandair's stricter EU measurement standards (compared with other airlines), and this one was perfect! I was able to pack several changes of clothes and a pair of sneakers) and still be able to lift it easily into the overhead compartment. I love my new bag and can't wait to use it again.
Minimalist and true to size
I will give this bag a 10/10! It has a sleek minimalistic design. And is true to the advertised sizing dimensions. I was looking for the ideal carry-on that will pass strict airline guidelines and I found it in this bag. Also it doesn't hurt that the bag is made by Eagle Creek. Which is known to have great customer service and a solid warranty repair reputation.
Nice suitcase but smaller than expected
This bag was just delivered and it really is quite smaller than expected. The REI description had 21.5x14x8, but I measured as 20x13x6. Nice looking bag and light, but will likely return.
Perfect size, minor flaws.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The luggage itself meets our needs for Intl carryon requirements. The only issue we have had is with the flaps that secure the contents. One of the pockets where the straps/buckles slide through has already frayed where the strap enters the slot. The occurred while trying out the bag while still new and never used on an actual trip. Due to time constraints, it was not worth sending back for replacement, though I would love to have it repaired or replaced.
luggage is great but REI failed on packaging
luggage itself is good. Wish it had a front or back pocket to store something slim like a magazine or 8.5x11 notepad. Reason I gave it 2 stars is REI decided to put the items contents and price on the outside of the package. Which is upsetting and disappointing. What if the items' a gift and I didn't want anyone to know the price or what's inside?! very disappointing to say the least.
Great wheels and handle
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m still debating whether to keep this or not. I don’t love the color as much as I love my previous is Eagle Creek, which is no longer considered the right size. That one is really stood the test of time so I’m very sure that this one will too.. however, this one feels smaller and in combination with not loving the color and very few color options, I might hold out for something else.
Still like my 12 year old Eagle Creek suitcase better
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just back from 2 week trip. Black interior makes it hard to see. Haven’t found a use for the compression straps. I liked my old eagle creek bag that had a large exterior zippered space and orange interior. New one only has a small pocket. Will probably get used to the features of the new bag as I use it more. Seems sturdy enough.
Perfect
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This bag is the perfect size, a bit smaller than most carry ons, which is the whole point: you know that it will fit without having to pry open the plane's fuselage. If you need to do that to fit your carry on, then you should be checking it in. Needless to say, it is designed and built with typical Eagle Creek quality.
