I used this bag as my primary luggage for a week long trip all around NYC. I was on and off public transport, in two airports and rolling my bag through the streets of Manhattan during my trip since I stayed at several different lodging accommodations. It did GREAT! The wheels are so smooth, the trolley handle feels durable and it honestly fit so much ( I packed it to the max and still managed to fit in some extra goodies on my way home). I'd highly recommend this bag, plus it looks cool.
The hybrid design is good. It's good to have access to an outside pocket with a hard shell design. The handle is either defective or poorly designed. The pins that hold the handle in extension are not adequate to keep the handle extended when you roll the bag on four wheels. The handle keeps collapsing.
I was really excited to upgrade my old duffel bag to my first wheeled piece of luggage. This bag rolls SO SMOOTHLY and is so nice. I love having the lock built in and the expansion zipper. I felt like the bag was a little small and I really stuffed it full. On my return flight from San Jose, I noticed the guy in front of me couldn't fit his carry on in the overhead properly. With a full flight, United made him check it and he didn't have a personal item or anything to keep a few valuable items with him. I was thankful this slid in so easily even packed. After looking back at the specs, I realize this is actually more of an international carry on size so while I may need to pack a little more light and thoughtful on my trips in the US, I'm thankful I can use this as a carry on to Italy in a few months. I didn't even realize this at the time of purchase but thankful this is the case.
Took this carry-on on a long weekend trip to San Miguel de Allende. I ended up doing way more shopping that I intended but was still able to fit everything for the trip home thankfully. LOVE the expandable front pocket - fits more than I thought! Had a stretches of gravel commuting to the airport and the wheels did surprising well.
I'm typically a duffel person (they're easier to overpack), but this bag is a great option for quick weekend trips. Rolls nicely, fits a surprising amount of stuff, and is a nice break from carrying a heavy duffel bag. Plus I like that front compartment for laptop/misc items.
So excited that Eagle Creek launched the new design of the Tarmac 4-Wheel Carry-On. It zips so that each side lays flat, like a butterfly. So convenient and allows easy access to all compartment areas. I only travel with Eagle Creek and have been an enthusiast for 25 years!
I've been using the Tarmac Carry-On as my primary bag and it has been amazing. It's easy to pack, and holds so much. The front pocket is perfect for my Mac and iPad. This bag is great!
This is a great suitcase for quick business trips. Plenty of room with the additional quick access storage
I can't say enough good things about my tarmac luggage. It completely changed my airport experience
My wife loves Tarmac Carry-On. I only wish you had matching organizers bags.
