Well Designed Pant

I am 180 / 6', size 33 x 32 fit perfect; most 34 are to large and 32 too tight. More pants should come with a dedicated phone pocket; I love it. Keep the belt loop on it, don’t get rid of those. The zipped pocket can be practical to secure key and wallet, but I would rather have a horizontal zipped map pocket on right leg and phone on left side. Material seems robust, down side is they are quite tick, so warm during warm day. They are great pant wearable everywhere, not just on trails. I highly recommend. A suggestion would be to complete your Chockstone selection with a light version (for warm day) like you did with the alpine.

Overpriced, garbage quality

Overpriced garbage. The left pocket tore on the first trip I wore these out on. I didn't even have keys in that pocket, just a clifbar and chapstick. Unfortunate, because these are really comfortable pants with a nice fit/color.

Great pants, needs minor improvements

Bought these to replace the Chockstone/2 pant for mountaineering trips. I love the fit, the small amount of elastic in the waist is just enough to snug up the fit. I wish they were lighter in color. Dark pants arn't great on glaciers, the sun beats down and brutilizes you. These will work for non-glaciated climbs. My biggest complaint is the right side drop in pocket. Its perfectly sized for an iPhone or other smart phone, but the snap closure is incredibly difficult to open with one hand. Its very secure, but could be easier to open.

Simple but effective

Let me tell you that these pants may be simple but oh so great. I dont need many pockets because I wear a shirt with plenty pockets. These are sturdy, stretchy and a very important detail is that mosquitos wont penetrate the fabric, at least not here in northern Sweden. That might actually be the biggest advantage to these pants.

Well designed!

Just received my order. The fabric weight, pocket placement and design is optimum. I like the mildly elastic waist with a drawstring to fine tune fit which I would say is slightly slim. Blue color is subtle and attractive. I rank these as the PERFECT PANT and likely will order more.

Solid Hiking/Climbing pants

These are some solid softshell pants. Having the belt loops as an option is a feature I really like. I'll likely be ordering another pair soon.

Comfortable for long days

One of my favorite pants. I wore them trekking in Pakistan and they were a good fit and held up well to the dust and rocks of the area.

Only the best is good enough in the back country

Best hiking pants I have found. Pockets are strategically placed waist closes with a snap and a draw cord.
