Style and Fit Issues

These pants are well made but they are not a Slim fit. The pant legs look like bell bottoms. Mountain Hardware needs to change the fit and style information. Very misleading. I returned mine.

Durable and capable pants not durable belt attachment

I've used these pants on Mount St Helens and have done some light snowboarding with them and a couple other hikes, The pants themselves are extremely durable and handled temperature really well I've done mid-30s with no base layer underneath and haven't had an issue with warmth( I run very warm naturally), DWR, water resistance and scratch resistance are fantastic on them. The one issue I had is the belt attached the pants snapped on me and there's not much else in terms of belt loops so I would not be able to use my own belt on it besides the one belt loop on the back of the pant. The pants do run short which works for someone like me that's got a 28 or 29 inseam at about 5'8

Not great. Feel like plastic, and not comfy plastic. Also, too short.

We've all known for a while that most of our clothing is made of plastic, but it seems Mountain Hardware has stopped trying to hide it. Or at least stopped trying to make the plastic feel more like fabric. The feel of these is not good. Also, I ordered long, and my inseam is like probably 35", and they are not nearly long enough. Bad fit all around. Giving two stars because I haven't worn them outside and don't plan to, so can't give a full review. Oh, and they come in a paper bag that says they aren't using plastic for shipping anymore! And then that paper bag is in a plastic bag. Bad.

Great for Alpine Enviroments

Tough, Thick, did very well on the Matterhorn. Highly recommended - feel like an old bombshell-esque construction.

Design flaw

Good quality material and constructions but unfortunately poor design flaws. There is a snap that pops open with the slightest pressure on the waist band. Potentially making for a very embarrassing situation. There are no belt loops to back up the incorporated waist band tie. I am 6ft, 183lbs and usually wear 32 waist and I have a runners build. These fit skin tight across the hips and thighs. Putting a pair of soft shell gloves in the thigh pocket was to tight and unconformable. They ride low in the back. Especially when you bend forward. I tested these in the mountains and they did not pass. I am getting ride of them. Recommendations 1. Use a button of more durable fastener. 2. Add belt loops to back up the integrated waist tie. 3. Add about 3 cm to the back up the pant. 4. Add more material across the hips and thighs to accommodate athletics built people.

Well made but not a Slim Fit

The Men’s Chockstone Alpine Pants are well made but definitely not a slim fit. They are so wide from the hips down the thigh and the ankle. I really wanted to like them but if they would make a fitted slim pant that would be great. I returned mine.

Really great Pants (1 year review)

I really like these pants, they are heavy enough to keep you warm on a cooler day, but not hot. I also like the minimal logo and simplicity of these, wear them most days.

Great Mountaineering Pants

Great pant for all around use. Handles varying terrain well in how it manages body temp as well as stands up to rocks scratching against it.
