I have had this down pants for approximately five years, and it keeps my legs warm at work and when I am outside on cool days. I have been wearing this over a thin base layer and under jeans. If it is really cold I wear in under insulated powder pants. I keep it with me at all times to be able to layer up if the weather is cold. I have worn it when skiing in temps below freezing and it helps but it does have to be removed when skiing in warmer temperatures because I get sweaty from the exercise. It is tight fitting, but I like that because it layers well under my jeans or powder pants. The seam did split in the crotch due to the tight fit and how often I wear it, but that was easily stitched back together.
I love them perfect to throw over sweats and wear on the porch or for quick outings. I feel warm anytime with these
I tested Ghost Whisperer pants in minus -15 Celsius and they are a complete failure and will not be going into the mountains with me ever again because the sizing is to small. I am 183 lbs. and wear 32 pants. I ordered a size large. The pants fit tight and compress the insulation if you bend your legs at all. Because they are cut so narrow it is not possible to remove the pants without removing your boots. Unfortunately it looks like fashion was a bigger priority than function.
I just received these pants. The fit is true to specs and nicely constructed. I like the hardware components; long ankle zips, zip and snap front. One feature I think would improve these pants would be to have a self- stowing pocket either in the back or front. That would eliminate the need for the small included stuff sack. Again, I haven’t used these in the field, so I can’t attest to their warmth.
The MH Ghost Whisperer Pants are some of the Best Down pants I own. They offer great stretch, mobility and are perfect under Soft Shell pants. Very warm and the bottom zip closure even fits over the top of Mountaineering Boots. For reference, I’m about a 37” inch waist and 32” inseam. I went with the Large Regular and the fit is perfect. There’s even some give in the waist to wear heavier tops.
I now understand all the accolades these insulated pants have garnered. They are well designed and made. Combined with a good base layer, they provide the ultimate warmth for your lower body, Note: in cold weather, don't just concentrate on your core. Your thighs lose heat also. Wearing these pants eliminates the issue. The short version is a perfect fit to clear the top of my boots.
Unzip the pant legs a bit, open the snap and the fly, and put on a cloud of warmth. Snap up the front and feel the gently elasticized waist snug up, with provision to tie it up more securely if need be. Then zip everything up and stuff your hands in your deep front pockets that go under the pants, for a snuggly cozy feeling.
I’m about a 30 waist and about 32 long. That should mean a small regular. The small is pretty tight, usually stretching the elastic near its limit. The length seems much less than 32. I can’t imagine getting the long 34 inch, but if you are a 32 regular, you may need the medium long.
I have 3 sets. I've been waiting for more colors but the last few years it's been super limited. Awesome pants/jackets. Super fit super comfy super warm. Revitalize these please
I love these pants! They fit like I thought they would. I bought a large so that they wouldn't be too tight on my waist. (33) They are so warm!
