Sole transmits cold a little

Don't get me wrong -- I like these boots very much. They fit me very well, are comfortable, and are even much more water-repellent than I expected.I went in over the ankle in a wetland area and the water just rolled off. My sock stayed dry! The reason I am not giving a full 5 stars is because the sole is a touch cold when walking around on frozen ground in 20 degree (F) weather for 30 minutes. If I was out longer or in colder weather, it may have become uncomfortable. They benefit from a fleece liner, which fits in there fine together with my foot.

3 star because my wife likes them

*I’m reviewing the Rootbeer Snow Angel boots* So these boots are NOT the color displayed. The color displayed is a darker brown; which my wife has a pair of grey so she wanted the darker brown. Let me be as clear as possible, THESE SHOES ARE SAND BROWN AT MOST! They are very light brown! Do not buy these if you think they are dark brown. This company needs to adjust their products because this is very misleading. And for the price you’re paying, you want to make sure you’re getting what is advertised! Overall they get 3 star because I got lucky and my wife actually liked the color, but be warned.

Warm and Comfy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I usually wear a 7.5 but since there were no half sizes I ordered an 8 and figured the extra wiggle room would be nice with thicker socks. Unfortunately, the boots ended up being way too big, and I think a 7 would have been a better fit. These boots were very comfortable and felt like they would be very warm. Amazing quality (as expected from Sorel), but these boots were a bit heavy. Overall, I was just looking for more of an everyday boot and I know these would feel too clunky for running errands. I ended up returning them and ordering the Out N About boots in a smaller size. If you are looking for a sturdy, warm winter boot I would recommend these, but if you are in between sizes I would recommend sizing down!

Stands up to Snowshoeing

Bought the Snow Angel boot 3 years ago, and am still loving it. I wear these boots extensively in the winter to snowshoe nearly every weekend. Super comfortable after 3 hours of hiking in snow both off- and on-trail, and my feet are never cold or wet. Just bought another pair because I know they will get discontinued just when I need them! Two minor suggestions though - (1) put a "pull tab" on the upper back part of the boot to make it easier to pull on and (2) bring back the steel blue color!

New favorite

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These boots kept my feet warm and dry during raining, very cold Boston weather. I also stood for 4hrs in the non-stop drizzle and cold while watching an NFL game during this trip and my feet never got wet or cold and my feet never hurt or got tired. Can’t wait to use them on this our ski trip!! I just love them! They are my new favorites and will be purchasing other Sorel boots because of the quality and how great these worked out.

Love the boot, not the color!

I love love love Sorel boots. The Snow Angel is my 4th pair. All of my boots are just about perfect—they are warm, fit true to size and are so very comfortable. I can walk all day in comfort. I couldn’t ask for a better boot. But with the Snow Angel everything is perfect except for the color. I love the rich chestnut color of the root beer boot shown. I imagined it matching some sweaters I own. But to my surprise, the actual color is not like the picture at all! I am very disappointed. I even had to research to make sure I wasn’t sent the wrong color. But no, the color of this boot on the upper is quite light and won’t match at all with what I bought it for. I feel mislead. I am keeping the boot because I will wear it and make it work. Please get us that root beer color!!! And give those of us that ordered specifically for this color a credit to get a pair when they come out!

Creat a Special Collection- Made in Portland, Oregon.

Wish with all my heart I could give this boot a better rating. Have worn your boots for many years… the quality isn’t what it was when boots were first made in Portland, Oregon. Wish you would offer a special collection made in USA (Portland, Oregon) … Real fur trim. Wool liners. Top grade pliable leather. Yes, the cost would be high …but fit, function and lasting quality are worth the price.
