Great Features and Comfort, Poor Sizing Options
I’m 5’8” and weigh 162 pounds. The medium was a bit too tight and the sleeves were longer than I would have expected. Otherwise, the length was alright. I exchanged it for a large. Unfortunately, it fit like a coat. Too loose and long for me all around. I returned it right away. I’m going to try the R1 Techface hoodie in a large. Hopefully, it will be the one. I will say the R2 Techface jacket feels great on, stops wind and is instantly warm on a Southern California morning or at night. I wish there were more in stock inside the stores. I might have been able to find a better fit with more available options.
Excellent most of the year jacket
Comfortable, soft and warm. This is replacing a Columbia Ascender that's getting a bit scuffed. This is both softer, more flexible and a bit warmer than the Columbia to me. I think I'd be comfortable in this until about 45-50 degrees. Whereas Columbia is probably 10 degrees above that. The only negative I have is that the chest zipper is facing away from you and make opening it a bit weird for me.
Excellent Jacket
Great jacket, warm and fitted. Perfect for day and night temperatures between 14°F (-10°C) and 50°F (+10°C) when worn with a base layer or outer layer (e.g. Down Sweater). Height 5'9" (176cm) / Weight 191.8 lbs (75kg), Size L
A very slim fitting garment
Compared to other middle layer clothes, this one is more slim fitting. I am 166cm tall and weigh 128 pounds. I don't have a big belly, so I can only say it fits perfectly when I wear it. For people with large stomachs and chest muscles, this piece of clothing is not a good choice
Good jacket
Jacket is stretchy, warm and comfortable. The inner fleece is very nice against the skin and is sort of a loose shaggy grid of fleece as opposed to a tight high pile fleece. My biggest gripe is the collar needs some sort of stiffer material to stand up on its own without the jacket being zipped up all the way. If the zipper is even unzipped 2 inches, the collar, and all that shaggy warmth, falls away from your neck, making it hard to tailor the warmth and comfort. Ordered a size XL, as I found that size in the R1 Air to fit well, however this is slightly larger as its intended as an outer wear piece.
Great Jacket But...
Very comfortable and warm. Wore the jacket twice and suddenly there is a hole in the left hand pocket. Also runs bigger than the R1 in my opinion. Returned to REI due to hole in pocket and size difference
Great but a Goldilocks without the just right
There is much to love about this jacket but the sizing is challenging for a 5'10" 225 lb. male. I tried both a size L and an XL; both are too long in the body and the sleeves. The XL was too roomy in the midsection while the L is a bit more snug than I would prefer but I chose it (up the training program...). I plan to shorten the sleeves by at least an inch and I would prefer the bottom hem didn't extend so low but I will live with it. It is very warm for how light and thin it is and the five pockets are great. It is both an excellent base layer and my go to sweater/sweatshirt.
Great for Fall / Winter Shoulder Season
Perfect for hike / jogs with my dog during late fall to early winter. Warm, windproof and breathable enough to be comfortable during strenuous activity in temps ranging from low 60s to mid 40s. Also great for bumming around town, maybe roomy for some but creates a sporty cut on my frame - size L, 5'11", 210lbs.

I bought a medium and was snug on the chest and stomach and returned it and ordered a large which ended being too big and loose. Everything about it, besides the sizing, I really liked. If I go back to the medium, will it loosen up after a while? On the weight range you have us choose is not in any way accurate.
