Absolutely Exceeded My Expectations

The Gazelle G5 Portable Gazebo exceeded my expectations. As an astronomy hobbyist who primarily observes and images the Sun safely, I needed a portable solution to keep me out of the Sun that was both durable and easy to manage. The G5 delivered on all fronts. Setup and takedown are simple. It pops open quickly, and installing the two poles on either side of the door is all it takes. The attention to detail is impressive. The placement of the stake holes, the built-in packaging straps, and the carry bag all show a level of thoughtful design that is rare. Most impressive of all, the gazebo actually goes back into the carry bag just as easily as it came out. That never happens with other tents or awnings. It is lightweight, easy to carry, and stores neatly without any hassle. I wish all my purchases were this successful.

Not quite what I thought

First, pack size is huge! You will NOT find a picture in their site showing it packed in its bag. Every picture, including the one shown here, shows a portion of the bag. Well, the bag is approximately 6 feet long. I’m 6.2 and it come just above eye level. Unless you have a truck or flatten back seats in your SUV, you will likely not fit this tent in your vehicle. Second, design flaws. The entire thing is made to quickly assemble and disassemble. To that end, the walls quickly collapse when pushed from the outside. Guess what pushes from the outside too!? Wind! So, if having mildly strong winds, you’ll have to anchor every wall in addition to anchoring the perimeter. If only they came up with a locking system to keep the push/pull points from activating! If you can work pass these two issues, you’ll find it to be a nice gazebo that can be put up or stowed in under 2 minutes.

Great Gazebo with many features

I bought this gazebo during the Overland Expo SoCal 2025 and was a smoking steal of a deal. First use and setup is the typical Gazelle we know and love and setup was a snap (less than 40 seconds). Staked down and setup my dining/ lounging area within the gazebo out in the wild unknown and all functioned without any issues.

Perfect!!!

The gazebo worked perfectly. On a seven day camping trip it kept us totally dry in spite of several rainy days. The side panels were great to keep out the rain when it was windy. We had plenty of room to cook and relax inside the gazebo. We had no problems with bugs either. Set up was quick and easy.

Easy to set up...but

We are happy with the ease of setup, the weight of the gazebo, and the quality of the zippers. BUT our gazebo leaks around the seam where the sides meets the top. It leaks on all sides and front. After a steady rain throughout the night and early morning, we found everything in our gazebo under these seams were soaked. Even after wiping the water off the seams, it continued to leak. I contacted Gazelle and was instructed to apply a seam seal. I find this unacceptable for the price paid. We will seam seal once the temperature is over 60 degrees and see what happens.

Great Gazebo

Very easy setup, well made, good gazebo for camping. We bought it for short bouts of inclement weather in Montana so breathabilty is not an issue.

Easy for no bites this summer

It went together easier with 2 people after we figured out how to understand box it. Some of it was inside out but we were able to fix it, hence the 4 star rating

Velcro warning.

Very roomy, well made, and fairly easy to set up. I do have two complaints. I bought six panels for protection and privacy. You have to buy six, even though there are five sides. Putting panels on all five sides is kind of a pain. Zippers would be a lot better. Also, a specially designed panel for the door would be nice. Second, I accidentally let Velcro rub against the bug netting. Don't do this! I now have a frayed section in the netting, which affects my view out.
