Great all purpose bike with all accessories I need
So far the bike is pretty awesome! I like the geometry of a martial and the wide handle bars. The suspension and big tires are very forgiving. It will make a great city bike that can transition to the dirt trails along the rivers in Sacramento. Bosch system is top notch range is good and this bike has every accessory I need from the start
Not running well even after a service.
I had the Tesoro Neo X3 2021 before that was stolen and it ran great. I bought this one at $5500 and it runs very poorly. I took it in for a service which hasn't improved the condition much. The gears are clunky and do not transition well. There is a lag on the pedal to connect with the drive. It looses power on the uphill compared to the Neo X3. Riding uphill on a slight incline in Turbo mode is still hard work. I'm thinking of returning it and getting the NeoX3. Nice features but poor performance.
Highest spec in category
It’s too bad they are being discontinued- it’s a great bike for the price. [it was $5500 originally] the Bosch speed motor & 625watt battery are excellent, with plenty of power & good range at the lower Eco setting. Good drivetrain & brakes, a good fork when set up properly: Set air pressure and damping to your weight. The shock post works pretty well, although I switched to a PNW dropper. I changed out the saddle, bars & stem, and pedals for a better fit / personal preference, but the stock parts were good. I also changed the tires to something lighter/faster, but the Schwalbe BigBen is a quality & very durable tire, perfect for the bike’s intended use. An excellent all-round e-bike for commuting, light touring & all-road use. I’ve now put 600+ miles on it, averaging 30-50 miles per day, and never used more than 75% of the battery charge. Highly recommend e-bike (my first one) from a life long cyclist.
Durability issues, very disappointing.
Was liking it but found it has durability/deisgn problems. After 1 month of riding, rear gears(cassette) are worn out. Only 400 miles. I've been back to REI 3 times, and they have no idea how to fix it. Emailed Cannondale, and they basically said the equivalent of "not our problem, call Shimano". In the weeds, they took a standard mountain biking gear setup which is geared speared for low speeds and put a class 3 motor on it. So to ride at speed you're basically always in the top 2 gears which aren't as durable. The bike should have been setup for a 42-54T front ring which would have solve all of this but mine came with a 36T. Cannondale seems to have figured this out later so some of the bikes come with a 45t but they won't acknowledge that they screwed their earlier customers. Other issues, REI sold it too me with the handlebars loose. I've read online something about cannondales design causes it to reloosen alot. Thanks Cannondale. The rear kickstand has to be retightened every 2 weeks because it's too cheap. The front light can't be turned off, which annoys other bikers on trail. The bike comes with a horn instead of a bell which is kind of obnoxious to use anywhere. The charge port isn't secured well so when you pull the charger out it can pull the port out with it which seems like a durability concern for the internal wiring. Do i sound bitter? Currently very frustrated with this 4k bike, Very likely I'm going to return soon if the REI bike shop doesn't give me a call back with some fixes. I've ridden several cannondale's but if they don't shape up
Happy rider
Having ridden 600 miles on the Cannondale Tesoro Neo X Speed, I can confidently share my insights on this e-bike. One of its standout features is the unparalleled comfort it offers, making even the longest rides feel like a breeze. Furthermore, the braking system is top-notch, providing a sense of security even when navigating challenging terrains. What truly sets this e-bike apart is the addition of a second battery. This enhances the range significantly, allowing for over 100 miles of travel, even in mountainous terrains. It's an invaluable feature for those long exploratory rides. Before settling on the Tesoro Neo X Speed, I meticulously compared various bikes and their respective components. In terms of value for money and overall performance, this Cannondale model genuinely stands out from the competition. In summary, the Cannondale Tesoro Neo X Speed is not just an e-bike; it's a statement of quality and efficiency. Whether you're an avid cyclist or someone looking for a reliable mode of transportation, this model is worth considering. ---
Comfortable and fast
Awesome bike. We bought this one for my wife after I had a Neo 1 for 2 years (almost 2000 miles on mine). This bike is significantly better than my 2 year old Neo 1. The computer on the Neo X Speed is wonderful and connects to an app via Bluetooth. It is light years better than my Purion system. The bike is fast and smooth. My wife has had one 40 mile ride on it and loves it. The only downside is that the power plug in the bike comes loose from the factory. It was the same on my '22 and friends that bought two NEO 1's last year. After a few years of this, I would have expected Cannondale to have fixed this oversight. It requires the bottom panel to come off and a zip tie mounting the plug in the bike frame. It is a 15 minute fix once you know what to do. I looked up a U-Tube video and fixed my '22 Neo 1. I told the assembly folks at REI about it and they fixed it upon pick up. They noted that they have seen this problem on other Tesoros. Also, when we picked up the headlight came on everytime the bike was on. Fortunately, the REI shop manager was there and she remembered how to reprogram the computer so the headlight would turn on and off as it should be. Once you get through these assembly issues, the bike is awesome.
