I ran in these shoes for the first time on 1 Feb. I could tell immediately they were much softer and giving than the previous version. I love this so much more for that same reason. These shoes are great for easy long runs and you should be able to get a lot of mileage out of them.
Scott, So glad you love this style! Thanks for being a loyal Saucony customer and for the 5-Stars. Run for good!
brought these shoes last year some time... did one race in them (1/2 marathon... big mistake) treadmill work and road runs... was hoping they feel alot better with the high stack... these shoes run tight on my feet sz 14
Thank you for your feedback on the sizing.
As owning the Endorphin Pro 3 and loving everything about that shoe, I wasn't sure what to expect from the Shift 3. But knowing I was in need of a max cushioned daily trainer, I decided to roll the dice and take the dice on the Shift 3. I'm glad I did. The ride is smooth, responsive, and lighter on foot than what the actual weight of the shoe indicates on the specs. I've used the shoe on easy runs, recovery runs, medium distance runs, and on occasion, tempo runs. The SPEEDROLL Technology is very evident and provides and very easy and comfortable transition. Looking forward to putting many more miles on them this winter and for the time being they are a perfect counterpart to my race day Pro 3s.
Well this is a chonky boy. The midsole looks like a brick of styrofoam. It also felt like it the first 30 miles. Too stiff at first, but after some break in it feels balanced and soft enough without being plush. It's been perfect for crunching those low-intensive 5-30 mile runs. I have narrow feet with low archs and the Shift 3 fits me just fine. There is room for toe splay and the mid foot lock down is good, but I'd like a tighter fit in the heel. Coming from the Endorphin Speed 3 I enjoy the lower drop but missing the laces. -1 star for roomy heel, silly laces getting untied too often and boring color choices. Would recommend the Shift 3.
The Endorphin Shift 3 is a high quality very well made shoe. Every part of it feels and looks well made. And like the Kinvara, despite the extra cushion, it still has that 4mm drop which I do love. There's noticeably more height (39 mm vs 31 mm) which I quickly became accustomed to. But the biggest change for me was the additional weight -- 60 grams according to Saucony. That means it's 30% heavier than the Kinvara 14, and for me, that's proving to be too much additional weight for a shoe that I run in regularly, even for those "slow recovery" days. About me: still running 3x/week, age 50+, still prefer the Kinvara
Wanted a daily trainer to compliment my faster runs. This version is better than the previous. It rolls better as it's not as stiff. 1st run was better than expected out of the box. Wanted to do 3 but ended up doing 5 easy miles. Soft on the feet and cushion on the knees. All you have to do is move your legs and the shoe does the rest. Best when used when you need a nice long run. I see how it compliments the endorphin speed. Even for an older runner like myself (52).The only draw back were the laces. I have no idea why they would put ropes as laces. I purchased the vizipro. I switched them right away.
Bought this after running in Endorphin Speeds, Endorphin Pros, Endorphin Speed 2s, AND Endorphin Pro 2s. I was waiting for the Endorphin Elites to drop, and figured I needed a “slow” shoe to balance out my arsenal of go-fasters. Well, these are the WORST purchase I have ever made when it comes to a running shoe (and I tried running in a pair of Nike Cortez about 2 decades ago). If you want to feel like you’re running through SAND your entire run, these are absolutely the shoe for you. If you want to feel like are battling the shoe the emtire run, these are definitely the shoe for you. If you want to feel like you’re running with two toddlers latched onto your legs, again - these are the shoe for you. Not sure who the target was when they created these, but Saucony should be ashamed to include these as part of the Endorphin line.
We're sorry the Endorphin Shift 3 did not meet your expectations, but we appreciate your review.
I use the shoe for working out on my Bowflex TC 100. I can feel it slip on the tread occasionally. I swap shoes out with each workout and my Adidas Ultra boost does not slip. My speed is 3.5 mph. I have another Saucony OMNI 19 shoe that I swap out and it does not slip. The only good thing I will say about the Saucony Endorphin Shift 3 is it was very well priced and delivery was good.
Great everyday shoe. Love the support they provide to my worn out arches. I’m down to sub-7:00 miles thanks to these shoes! I was worried about the white soles getting dirty, but they wipe clean with just a wet paper towel. The bright blue fabric stains easier so I recommend some waterproofing or protectant if you want to keep them looking amazing forever.
I'm a little over 90 miles in these, and I appreciate the a little more with each run. I bought the Concrete colorway, and on the first couple runs I thought it was a description of the midsole foam. It took a good 20 miles for the midsole to soften up and is now very comfortable on those longer slower miles. If you're looking for a spongy feel underfoot, or a bouncy feel as you run, this is not your shoe. This is a shoe designed to absorb impact and make your run more enjoyable. As with all shoes in the Endorphin line, these are not the best on wet hard surfaces. You can feel some slippage as you step through, but it's not horrible. Overall, this is a really good complimentary shoe for the rotation.
