While Saucony (thankfully) dropped the stack height on this iteration of the shoe, the continued use of their EVRRUN still makes for a poor daily trainer that emphasizes lightness and flexibility. The foam is so is still so stiff that during transition and push-off it feels like I'm fighting the foam for full range of motion in the foot, preventing a natural transition. Coupled with a toebox that feels narrow like the Kinvara 15s, this version of the shoe is a hard pass. It's too bad, this line was the daily trainer of choice from Saucony for a lot of people, but now it's just a muddled, over-foamed mess that fails to deliver on it's basic premise: light, low, and flexible.
I was running marathons and doing Ironmans. At 55 I tore my meniscus after surgery was told I had no cartilage left around the knee. As time went on I was only able to run 10 minutes 2 or 3 times a month. At 60 was told to give up running and replace both knees. I looked into best shoes for bad knees, the recommended shoe was a low I think it’s called toe drop of 5 or lower Kinvara had a 4. I ordered a pair and began leg strengthening exercises. At 66 I am running 4 days a week runs between 3 miles and 10 miles. Yes still a bit sore at times, during the last few years tried other shoes with poor results Love the shoes
I have purchased the last 7 or 8 versions of this running shoe. I love them.
the Kinvara 16 is not anything like the Kinvara 14. No changes should have been made to the Kinvara 14. The 14 was very flexible, light, and responsive to the ground. The 16 is too mushy, stiff and loses the feel the the ground. I would not buy another pair of the 16 and would return them if I could. I bought 4 and used and still have one pair of the Kinvara 14. Why change a good thing when you have it. The mesh upper on the 14 was very breathable and stayed dry. Ray Schnell
I love these shoes. As someone who doesn't gel with the soft, high stack shoes that are popular right now, this shoe is one of the only options left on the market, and after not liking the previous generation I'm happy to report these are awesome. They feel stable, are comfortable, look good, have decent traction, and fit well. I have a high arch and average width foot, I do wear the men's version as a woman and it seems to fit me better. Can't report on durability as I've only done 3 runs in them so far but I highly recommend this shoe to anyone who likes a more traditional feeling shoe or something light and fast for speedwork. I plan on running a half marathon in these. Thank you Saucony!
The Kinvara shoes are my go to shoes. I run multiple marathons every year and my feet are comfortable with the Kinvara from mile 1 until they get retired after 500 plus miles.
Comfortable, supportive and light in weight. Great running or jogging shoes. Also very durable, my previous pair lasted for years and hundreds of miles!
This is the perfect HYROX shoe. Mid stack, firm, excellent proportions for agility and incredibly light.
I have worn over 25 pairs of Kinvaras during the past 10+ years (including the trail version and visiglow models) and this is the first pair that has hurt my arches intensely without any sign of improvement. I have tried running in them with Superfeet insoles and with the original Saucony sock liners, but neither changes the pain. I have very flat feet and maybe the pain is simply the result of the new model being firmer than prior years and my body getting older. Either way, I am not enjoying my current shoes after 10 runs of three to five miles and may have to donate this pair to Goodwill. On the positive side, the upper is as comfortable as ever with minimal slipping of my heels (I adjusted the laces to stop the slippage). Overall, I'm disappointed for the first time in over a decade.
