GOOD IDEA, BAD IMPLEMENTATION

Pro: very little plastic smell. Con: valve design is awful: 1) Valve leaks (bought 2 bottles, both leaked); 2) Valve cannot be cleaned fully because liquid gets trapped inside the valve mechanism (liquid is visible through the plastic but inaccessible); 3) Valve protrudes inside the lid so it is impossible to drink the entire contents of the bottle. Note: this bottle is made by Specialized, so all similar bottles with the same valve mechanism probably have the same flaws.

Hard to use

This might be good for biking but I am a day hiker. This is difficult to open and difficult to get water out of. Easier to unscrew top then to use the nozzle.
