I just took this tent on a Deso river trip. I have used the tent a lot in the two years since I bought it. Every time I use it I remember how great it is. For one person it is big enough to throw all your gear inside and have plenty of room for a regular wide pad. The night light diffuser is a genius idea. My tent has shown no wear on the floor without using a ground cover. Highly recommend the OSMO fabric as it dries quickly. The dark netting on top is great for star gazing. All around the best tent I have ever used on countless adventures g
Very light weight, durable materials, some cool extra features like the headlamp pocket and "landing zone" storage outside the tent. It sleeps two adults comfortably on a backpacking trip. It is especially great without the rainfly because it offers great airflow and a wide open view for stargazing. Personally, I think a 2-door tent is a must. We appreciate the bathtub style bottom and a rain fly that goes all the way to the ground. The color coded setup is brilliant and the poles are soooo easy to manage. Definitely get the matching footprint.
Have used this tent for over 30 days of camping in different environments. Set up and breakdown are fast and easy. Never had the condensation issues others have reviewed. We prefer more room to cutting weight, so we chose this tent. There was a tear in the seam on my first trip, Nemo fixed it for free but the fix time was 6 weeks, so don’t plan on going on a trip anytime soon if it’s being repaired. Overall we enjoy this tent and it stands up well to rain and wind. We were beach camping and a torrential storm with high gusts came in and literally blew over everyone’s tents, the osmo stayed strong and dry through it.
First tent purchase in 8 years so I put in a lot of research. The Dagger Osmo is the best 3 person option out there for my needs. Great weight and tons of livability. I was pretty surprised by the ventilation and no condensation on the first use. The poles and stakes are both high quality and I plan to take this shelter on a lot of trips!
I was looking for a new lightweight tent with room. After much research I settled on the Nemo Dagger 2P. The new fly material of the OSMO was of interest. As always, I just dove in and started setting up. The basic tent setup was very quick and intuitive. The fly took me a few minutes, but once I caught on that the hook ups are color codes it was a snap. The new material is interesting. Very light and almost feels like some type of paper. Even though it is thin, I did put some stress on it trying to put the fly on wrong the first time with poles poking it, but not a mark. I also did some tugging and it appears to be tough. I haven't been out in the rain yet so I ran a garden hose on it for about 15 minutes. While I didn't stake it out very well I didn't not any sagging and the water for the most part ran off. Not a great test, but something. It also dried very quickly compared to my old rain fly. Very impressed so far and cant wait to see how if hold ups over the season.
I have had it since May with the first hike in June. Excellent. No problem even with strong wind.
I bought this tent a year ago and used it extensively on the way to Compostella in Autumn and now in cold regions of South America. I am happy about the size of the tent for the tall guy that I am (186cm), and it's wide enough to just fit 2 wide pads. The OSMO material seems to hold its promises. The tent is strong and stable, even in a lot of wind. The mosquito nets have a good design. I am happy about my purchase, but: * the jack's foot feature for the outer fly is sometimes a pain to use, and it seems to be that it's fragile * I found the footprint a necessary purchase, but it is really expensive and has this same jack's foot feature that I don't trust in the long term * I love the pockets at the side of the tent, but found the purchase of a Gear Loft necessary too. It is useful, but some pockets let their content slide out, as others pointed out. Also, there should be a little explanation on how to hang this (the long side should be transversal to the tent's length), especially since the hooks are massively hard to use and can damage the little yellow attachment points. * There are not enough stakes for the extra guy-out chords. * The strut vents are a nice feature but do not always provide enough ventilation to prevent condensation. I have already had a fair share of condensation in this tent. * I am still figuring out how to not get ripples in the outer fly, even with all the bells and whistles, it remains very difficult to not have ripples (which are a catalyser for condensation) Nonetheless, I like this product very much, and would recommend it, even though I hope Nemo will fix the issues mentioned above.
Pros - hybrid fabric absorbs less moisture than silnylon tents - large rectangular footprint Cons - attachment points for poles and rainfly are finicky, poor ease of use - entering/exiting the tent is not as easy as the smaller 3P Nemo Dragonfly as the peak of the fly/tent opening is about 4-5 inches lower than the dragonfly - no built in gear loft as the Dragonfly has standard - the LandingZone tub is of questionable value and a pain to attach - the head of the tent does no guy out as well as with the Dragonfly, which pulls out quite a bit further All in all the new Dagger Osmo was a big dissapointment
Have this for a year. My partner and I love it's symmetry and beautiful detail. Three person tent is best for two adults and the slight extra weight is worth it. Can be a backpacking tent even though it's bigger than many backpacking tents though we use primarily a car camping tent. Easy put up and take down. Especially since each end of tent is the same and each side is similar in doors. She and I get out at different times of night and we love using a double sleeping pad and sleeping bag in this tent as there are nice pockets nearby for phones, headlamps etc. The Nemo green is always refreshing and I like their products in general.
I loved most things about the tent, but the third time I took it out ( probably the 6th night sleeping in it) one of the double zippers on the rainfly pulled off the end. The fly still works, but I have to leave that one vestibule permanently zipped closed. It looks like the plastic teeth on the zipper pulled loose, which allowed one side of the zipper to pop off. The seams near the bottom or the zipper also have started to pull loose, not something I would have expected from a tent with this price tag - in such a short period of time.
