Outstanding on all icy, snowy surfaces
These are simply outstanding traction devices. They work on hard ice, mixed snow and ice, layered ice and snow, sleet, you name it. I tried running tests with three different types of traction devices (studs, coils) and these were superior to all. Even during times when I later realized I didn't have them completley taut against the bottom of my shoes, or boots, they still worked perfectly. The strapping system is easy to use, the fact they come with a small bag is handy as well.
Chainsen micro-spikes review
I'm sure the Chainsen micro-spikes fit well if mounted on the 3 - season hiking boot displayed, but these are meant to be used for winter condition boots (ice and snow). I bought the XL size and expected to use it on a size 10 Sorel boot, and I have a really TOUGH time getting it to stretch over the boot.
