Running accessory
Great for running on packed icy winter trails. Lightweight and high traction.
These Keep you Locked Onto the Ground!
These MicroSpikes worked great! Used them on about 6 miles of icy trail last week and didn't slip once. They come with a red baggie to store them in, and the plastic is durable and seems like it will last a while. They're flexible for storing in your pack, and slip on easily when you need them. The red on the front looks especially nice on gray shoes!
Great so far, so lightweight!
This may be a bit premature as I've only used them for part of one 7-mile hike in the Indian Peaks Wilderness here in CO, but they seem great. If I experience any longterm durability issues, I will update this review. These are much lighter than my original pair of spikes which has lasted 10+ years. I wear a size 10 Zamberlan boot so I got a large and they fit great. Fairly easy to take on and off though I imagine that will get harder when it's super cold and my fingers are frozen. I felt no discomfort on the balls of my feet while wearing and they provide excellent traction on solid ice. Looking forward to getting more use out of them soon as the trails start to ice up more!
Fantastic on snow!
Loving these so far! I tested them out on a late season hike near Snoqualamie Pass and they did a fantastic job on slick snow. I'm used to using more agressive spikes and traction devices, but these performed VERY well on snow and I barely noticed them on my feet. I'll be curious how they do on slick ice! They were a little hard to fit into the provided bag, since the spikes aren't as flexible as some other models, but the weight savings more than make up for it!
Comfortable and reliable
Wore these for 14 hours of a 16 hour day with gaiters and trail shoes. Very comfortable over long distance and in variable conditions.
Same grip, but lighter and quieter
Yet to see how they hold up, but so far really liking these spikes. They are way lighter and take up much less space in your pack, and when clipped to the outside they dont make any noise when dangling around. While there may be a little less grip compared to the regular spikes without the chains, they worked just fine on ice and packed snow on fairly steep terrain. These are a must buy for backpackers or people saving weight, but id honestly recommend them to anybody considering kahtoola spikes
