Love this running shoe. I have always struggled with pronation and although I used to wear the 860’s I find that the Vongos help me even more. They give me more stability and at the end of the day I have less pain in my knees and body overall. I have a knee replacement so these Vongos are the best!

My very first stability sneaker and I love them! Had both my knees replaced this year and now my left foot rolls out slightly so I’ve been on the hunt for a good high cushion shoe to really lock my heel down. After trying several well known brands and models decided to try these after reading reviews. The ankle stability is perfect for me and exactly what I needed. They are nicely cushioned not too firm and not too soft. You can feel the Cush without the squishy-ness. They fit like a glove. They have enough room for my toes to be splayed flat and the mesh is airy so they are not hot. Nice heel lock!! There is just enough stability to guide my foot and keep it from rolling outward. Also love the way they look. May have to buy the pink now! After wearing them casually for about 2 weeks I did a 3 mile trail hike/walk without any issues or pain during or afterwards. Love these sneakers! As a sizing guide I am a solid 7.5 in running shoes and sometimes have to bump up to an 8. My foot is slightly wide with moderate volume but normally wides are too wide for my foot. I’m probably on the max side of medium.

These shoes are GREAT. They’re probably firm feeling to people who don’t usually seek out stability shoes. Definitely night and day from the foams—but really comfortable. The toe box isn’t super narrow, but I will say that my toe joint does stick out of the sides more than any other NB I have. So it’s not the worst thing; but I don’t have anything close to a bunion and yet it still has a little stretched out part in the inside of each one. Not sure if sizing up a half size would help since the fit otherwise is perfect. Definitely worth it overall.

I have bought 2 iterations of this technology (mesh toe box) in the past few years (2 pairs at the same time each time). The original style was discontinued and this is the closest to it, per an online chat with a NB rep. I love the elevation of the sole of this style, and that it doesn't rub against my ankle (common with any type of shoe). But what really seals it for me is the mesh toe box as I can do a 3- to 5-mile walk with no discomfort to my sensitive big toes. The shoe still feels very structured around my foot. I hope I can find this same technology when I've worn through the second pair I bought.

I LOVE these shoes, and I’m very picky! They are stabilizing shoes, perfect for those of us with pronation. Mine is subtle, and often stability shoes feel too heavy, too flat, or too clunky. These are light & quick, soft and cushy, and cute too! I ran my fastest Half Marathon wearing these! The Perfect Shoe ::chefs kiss!::

Design of sneaker is poorly made. The stretch of the knit fabric over toes is too much while running. The risk of injury is high when the toes strike the ground after each step.

This is my first pair of New Balance shoes and the Fresh Foam X Vongo v5 shoes were not what I expected. I have wider feet and the shoes I received were a bit too narrow for me. Typically I use a size 10 with other brand shoes (i.e., Asics, etc.) and they are normally fine. It appears that New Balance "regular" size 10 shoes for men must run on the narrower side. I can't return the shoes now that I have worn them, but it would have been nice to know before I purchased a "regular" size 10. If there is a next time, I will take this into consideration.
