Great Jacket...but

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed a good down jacket and looking at the pictures on the website this was one of the few TNF down jackets that actually has length in the body, which is key if your actually going to use it for riding, so I bought it. I originally bought a Size-L (6'2" 190#), but the arms were snug without any layers, and with a sweatshirt under it, it felt like small humans hugging my arms (NOT comfy), so I exchanged it for a XL at the store, and it felt like heaven even with a sweatshirt; therefore size up if you plan on wearing layers. I love this jacket, super warm, just enough details to make this an great jacket... ***BUT*** The powder skirt is a complete failure. I am a 34" waist, 33" on a good day, and the Size-L powder skirt was barely snug on my waist, so needless to say the Size-XL is just basically a loose piece of fabric that will serve no function in the elements. I'm not sure what sizing method TNF used to make this, but you would think it should be undersized so the elastic can do its job. I wish there was some adjustability to it, like a bungee draw cord (similar to the bottom hem). I'm definitely going to have to do something to make it functional in the backcountry, but overall this is my only complaint on this jacket (Minus 1 ⭐️).

I would own this on different color as well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Absolutely hands down one of the best cold weather gear that I own. I'm a marine mountain warfare instructor and I've used this piece of gold during sub zero temperature during training and skiing, got snowed on one of the days but it kept me super warm and dry. Don't second doubt on purchasing this bad boy!

This is the most versatile jacket TNF had this year

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is one of the best that TNF had out this season. It looks like an insulated ski jacket, which it is, but it functions as a do-it-all jacket. Between my Outerboroughs, McMurdo, L3, Mountain Light FL Tri, and this, I will take this one every time. It's that good. A lot of people passed on it at my store, and that's a shame, because they missed out. Warm, weatherproof, breathable, lightweight, versatile, and stylish. This fits true to size, in my opinion, whereas McMurdo and Outerboroughs should be sized down by one size.

Handled it like a BOSS

So I was recommended this jacket by a colleague that I would consider a legitimate skier (even though I'm a knuckle dragging boarder) 110+ days a season. It handled 32 degrees with windchill more like 10 degrees. I kept dry and warm, this jacket covered my face nicely and regulates heat well. Surprisingly light weight for the insulation it provides. I am not sure about the durability of the fabric in the trees, it seems soft but might get torn up. Time will tell. I will update if the jacket gets ripped up. I purchased used on REI at less than half price, not sure I would pay full price. But this is a solid, warm jacket, not bulky. I'm liking it, but it could do with a built in face mask like my NF parka (MyMurdo) if I had any real criticisms. I went XL at 6ft and 200lbs, 42" chest

Solid addition for cool conditions

Conditions on the mountain ranged from 20 to 35 degrees with various degrees of sun, clouds and wind. Good insulative qualities and wind-resistance. Pit zips were very helpful in venting heat during mid-day temperature peaks. Soft and quiet fabric. Good number and location of pockets. Worked very well for conditions described above and could go much colder with a warmer mid-layer.

Great snow or winter jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this jacket for a snowboarding trip this year. It worked great! I'm 6' 1", 175lbs, athletic build and ordered a small. Originally, I purchased a medium but it was too baggy for my liking. I could still fit a thicker long-sleeve under the coat and still have plenty of freedom moving around. Jacket did an excellent job keeping snow/ice/water off me. Highly recommend.

If you aren't familiar with the equipment, look elsewhere.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The jacket is covered with cords and other equipment which the company does not explain. There is no printed explanation of all its do-dads and gizmos included with the product, and online "Customer Service" is not at all helpful. If you already know how everything on it works, it's probably a great jacket. Otherwise, take your business elsewhere, like I did.

I would not buy this jacket again

Ive had the jacket for a couple of years now. The jacket is very stylish and I have received many compliments. Its just not warm. Winters in Vancouver dont drop far below 0 C. I lived in other parts of Canada and owned puffy jackets that are warm in 30-35 Belo Zero. For some reason my specific jacket is not warm. I regret the purchase.

Seems to be pretty close to waterproof

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Jacket seems real nice. I wear a large shirt size but went for the medium size jacket and it fits well. Although it doesn't say waterproof this thing seems extremely water resistant. I tested leaving a small pool of water on it for about 10 minutes and it didn't penetrate at all. Not sure how it would hold up in a downpour though.

This is the best for my Northface collection

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchasing it for my ice hiking feels proud of myself because the color is distinct and jacket gives the best experience in my journey. It has many pockets for my hiking tools & the weight is unexpectedly light for jacket like this. I had my great memories with this!
