I bought this bike online, so when I picked it up at the store I was highly dismayed to see huge pink accent stripes -- which do not show in the marketing photos. That wasn't the main reason I decided not to keep it, but it heavily factored in. (I thought about spray painting the pink or covering with electrical tape, but it's a $3,000 bike -- why deface it immediately?) And, for heaven's sake, this bike is for off-road use -- shouldn't REI recognize that the type of woman who rides gnarly single-track is not a "pink kind of gal"? REI, of all manufacturers, should recognize that women by default don't necessarily like to be associated with the color pink. I absolutely detest it; years ago I bought women's snowshoes from REI also online, and when they arrived as 100% pink I immediately returned them to the store. Please, REI, take women more seriously and stop compartmentalizing us in terms of girly color. I wanted an all-black bike, as the photo mostly shows, not one with a 3" wide pink stripe down the frame tubes. Yuck.
Nice look girls bike, still testing so not sure over all, Rei has great customer service as they helped fit the bike for sizing.
