Bought the bike for my wife as an upgrade for longer bikepacking and touring trips when it was 20% off and saved a large rebate balance on REI card. (Kudos to REI for making rebates available on demand with the card instead of end of year!!)Very pleased with the purchase and the upgrade in performance with the bike. Carbon fork has mounting points for the Salsa everything rack which is wonderful. Salsa bikes have always been quality and the entry level Journeyer with upgraded carbon fork doesn't disappoint. Not a 5 star review due to the thin paint job on Salsa products and this bike already show a few scratches due to thinness of paint job. Just need to add stickers.
Just finished the Erie Canalway trail on my new Journeyer. The trail is 360 miles of dirt, gravel, and pavement. The Journeyer was at home on all surfaces. The frame geometry is slack enough to be forgiving on rougher surfaces, but the bike was solid and quick in a pace line on the road sections. The numerous mount points support any bag or rack system, but the sloping top tube does limit frame bag size.
I spent a lot of time looking at different brands and models of bikes before eventually settling on this one. For me, it was the right mix of comfort and value.
This is my first 'real' bike that I have purchased that is fit to me. I love how smooth this bike rides and how easy everything is. I'm using this bike to tour long distances and have been told by many that Salsa's are great bikes.
I've had the Salsa Journeyer Sora 700c bike almost a year now. Love it. The only issue I had was the spokes on the rear wheel came loose during my second or third ride. REI Bike Shop rebuilt the wheel and I've had no issues since. Love the REI bike shop folks in San Antonio, TX. Always helpful and informative.
Awesome bike has tons of spots for accessories. It's light and fits me great. The back rim spokes loosened up after riding about 50 miles of on road use. Sounds like Salsa is aware and will be getting a new rim/spokes.
