Great cross-training hybrid bike

This bike was worth the price and extra for direct shipping! I've been riding hybrid road bikes for commuting more than 25 years. My previous bikes were used, well-worn-in and never fit my body shape. The lighter weight frame, improved disc-brakes and high quality tires are a bonus. I ordered this without trying the bike out in-store. It was a gamble, but I'm glad I did. I took measurements and had been looking for a new bike nearly 2 years. I wanted something quick, easy to ride and maneuverable in a city. This bike is just that! Very responsive, good brakes and extra reflective features on the frame. I feel confident riding this in an extremely dangerous city environment. The only reason it doesn't get an extra 5th star is that it's not a pure road bike. I give this 4.8 stars for value for price but I am a true long-distance road cyclist and the gears feel limiting to me. I can't achieve the kind of consistent cruising speeds I prefer with a hybrid bike, but it's not designed for that, so I acknowledge the limitation. I'm satisfied with the out-of-the-box purchase. REI made the order and delivery smooth. The freight driver was local and even suggested some great urban trails. I'm looking forward to riding this in-between my road-running intervals.

Fyi 5'4 still slighter big for a small

The chart says I should use a size small if im 5'4 but Im 5'4 and small isnt the right size as the chart suggests, test rode it and the handle bars seemed a little too far away and with the seat adjustments to the lowest I still couldn't comfortable touch the floor. I will test ride the xs.

Not sure about bike/store assembly was terrible

Haven’t had a chance to use the bike because it was so poorly assembled by the REI bike shop. Brand new $800 bike and the brakes were so soft you had to squeeze them completely to the grip to get them to stop the bike. Missing place holder bolt on top of the frame that allows moisture to get inside the frame. Reflectors not secured. Tried shifting thru the gears and it won’t even go on the large sprocket in the front. Is it too much to expect so pride and care when they assembled the bike? I shouldn’t have to take a brand new bike to a bike shop so it can be ridden. Was not given the owners manual. They couldn’t have cared less.

Great Bike

I decided to purchase a bike after not riding one in almost 20 years! It was super easy to ride, but just have to work on managing the gear shifts which are easy to use. It is a super fun ride!

Nice versatile bike

I'm very pleased with this hybrid bike. Love the shocks on the front. Smooth ride on and off road. Love the suspension, seat is soft handlebars are perfect. Didn't come with a kickstand. Pedals were included on the bike. I'm 5"2 (62.5 inches) and went with the XS fits me perfectly.

Good bike but disappointed in quality

I bought this bike to get back into trail riding and to be more and active and I do really enjoy the ride and fit. However only having owned it for less than a month and ridden it only twice now the lettering that spells Cannondale on the sides has started falling off. You'd think with the $$ being what it was the quality would match up. Debating returning because while I don't have any other complaints so fair it is concerning that a detail such as that would be so cheaply applied. For reference I am 5'3" and went with the XS, it rides more like a mountain bike but that is what I wanted.

I think the bike is great. I am 5'3" and my toes just touch the ground. Not a problem at all. The bike works. The breaks are ok but the ride is really smooth.
