Absolutely great, with one minor mod

This is my go-to mask for hiking, with some small modifications. I like that it's soft, and that the design of the ear loops and adjustable elastic make it easy to pull up when I get close to people and leave down otherwise. The fit is fantastic. I had some issues with the inner layer. It's great that there's a pocket for a filter, but the fabric on the inside is very lightweight and would get sucked onto my mouth and nose when I breathed. So I used some iron-on stabilizer to stiffen the fabric a bit. It gives it enough body that when combined with the filter, it stays away from my nose and mouth.

Very handy

Works well - glad I purchased it. I wear it when I am XC skiing or fat biking in case I meet other people on the trail. Otherwise I pull it down under my chin so I can breathe better. Two things that helped: 1. The ear loops: I saw a photo on the OR website showing how they are supposed to be used. The loops hook over the top of the ear and the tube covers half the ear. The ear loops don't go all the way around the ear like a typical face mask. 2. The paper filter: It would be a good idea to include instructions with the filters or a tutorial on the OR website. The filters arrive folded in half and are difficult to separate; tricky to get into the mask; not sure if I have the right way up.

Exactly what I needed for resort skiing during COVID

With the COVID requirements at my local ski areas this has been the prefect solution! The formed fit is spectacular in comparison to your typical neck gaiters. With the fitted and shapeable wire and the adjustable elastic draw cord I can easily snap this in front of my ugly mug when I hit the lift line but still drop it quickly to throw down a quick "cold snack" on the lift ride back up. All while using a replaceable filter to keep you safe while still being a lighter weight covering. If you're looking for a good solution to skiing in COVID times I highly recommend you consider this product.

Great for outdoor work

I work in the arctic and wear safety glasses or goggles beneath a hard hat all day. The nose wire allows for a good seal limiting the fogging of my lenses and the ear straps/cinch cord keep the face covering in place. 5/5 would buy again

Working well after 71K vertical feet from -5-30F

So many different masks available for skiers from masks, gaiters to balaclava's. I opted for this kit and it's done well on the whole. With a smaller head, the metal piece forms well to the shape of my nose and then the strap tightens it up to ensure it's not too loose/a good overall fit. Big or small, this should fit you. Skied in CA and CO and haven't run into any issues with fog using this, my Oakley Goggles and POC helmet. Skiing with a helmet, there's no discomfort with the ear loops. Most other masks on the slope are black/dark gray or a pattern. I'm happy with how the mask stays dry after ripping run after run through the day. No issues with breathing hard/catching breath at 11.5K feet. The white is a good neutral color option (I mostly see black/gray or patterned masks) which also doesn't require any sunscreen as it provides full face coverage. Watch their video on how to put the filter in - it's not quite intuitive which is the only feedback I have.

Comfortable no-fog solution

This ubertube is very comfortable under a ski helmet, and is easily adjustable. I've had no goggle fogging, even on cold days. I don't notice the elastic bits that loop over my ears. I always wear the mask up over my nose in lift lines and on the lift, then usually pull it under my chin for skiing. The provided disposable insert is too wimpy for this though, and becomes dislodged and scrunches up after a few runs. Instead, I've inserted a regular disposable medical mask. That seems to stay in place better, even though it's not a perfect fit.

Light weight Uber tube

It's great, comfortable and multi functional. It serves very well as a protective face mask for COVID and other air born particles when used with the provided filters. I will say the filters are a little hard to get placed correctly and the filter could be shaped to fill the whole space. It's also be great for fly fishing and on the beach or water as a neckgater. It fits great and the adjustable top holds it in place. The light color isn't as hot as my black one which make it best for summer and yes I have two so I can keep them clean!

face mask and neck gaiter that stays up!

This my go-to COVID protection. It sits comfortably around my neck when not in use. When I need it, I pull it up and put the ear loops over my ears. It can be as snug or loose as you want it to be. Finally, a neck gaiter that will actually stay up when I want it to!! I'm planning on using this for backcountry skiing, as I can pull it up over my face whenever getting close to people and drop it down around my neck when not in use. I got the black one for ninja style and a white one to use for sun protection purposes as well.

Love it

Fit is great. I have a big nose, and no problems with the fit. This is well made and well thought out. I like how the ear loops and drawstring work. The only down side, is that I also bought OR's other face masks (also great), but the two products don't use the same size replaceable filter pad. Almost worth losing one star there.

Very versatile protection

I love having a lighter weight option for covid protection while skiing, especially one that does not need go around or over my ears. I know this comes with ear loops, but I ignore them and never use them. If the synch in the back is tight enough, the mask stays in place. I only wish the filter area was bigger (this uses OR's smaller filter size) and that there was some way of helping the filter stay in place. If you're constantly pulling it up and down throughout the say, sometimes the filter can bunch up.
