lightweight, warm, and quick dry
Bought two of these for an Antarctic cruise as an upgrade to our basic polyester blend buffs. One piece of gear we never went without! The buff kept our faces from freezing on a -20 F hike yet were also comfortable enough to wear as a headband on a 50F hike in New Zealand. They pack down to nothing, clean quickly, and never smell (even after a 10 days of daily use). Much warmer than the basic polyester buff and easier to clean. The only downside (besides price) is that the wool fabric was horrible at glasses so I also had to carry an extra poly buff or microfiber cloth for lens cleaning.

Too tight, choking feeling
Does not have a "skirt" like the folded picture illustrates. Is actually just tube shaped, like all other Buffs,. But it has a smaller diameter than Buffs, and therefore feels like it's choking you.

Light weight!

I love thin but warm gear and this doesn’t create bulk. It was warm while pulled up over my mouth/nose and ears, and I immediately noticed the difference when it came down. I found I had trouble finding a good fit where it would stay up comfortably. If I pulled it above my ears, it wanted to slide further up my nose and rest on my cheek bone hitting my eyes. If I pulled it lower on my ears or under, it would then slide off my face and back to hanging around my neck. (I have a slightly bigger heard for reference.) I may just not be the optimal shape for it, it is plenty tight with lots of stretch. It feels well made, but it was a little too loose to keep my neck warm and a little too tight pulled up (making it rise down unless it was hooked on my ears/cheeks.)

Absolute must in freezing cold

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This chute is AMAZING. It covers that part of your neck that the scarf can often miss. It stays on without fear of it falling off and getting lost. Thin enough that it can go under other things, including additional outerwear, scarves and coats, etc. Also, can be left on without being any bulkier than a turtleneck. Can be left at the neck, or pulled up to cover the mouth, ears, or all the way up on top of your head. Note---it IS snug, per its design. So if your hair/makeup are done just so, you will have to take care when putting it over your head to put it on. Taking off is easier.

Must-Have Versatile Comfort for Any Adventure

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use the Merino 200 Flexi Chute for outdoor activities, especially hiking and camping. The merino wool is incredibly soft, breathable, and keeps me warm without overheating. What I love most is its versatility-I can use it as a neck gaiter, headband, or even a beanie. It's lightweight and packs down easily, making it the perfect companion for any trip. The only slight drawback is that it can stretch out a bit after heavy use, but it always bounces back after a wash. Overall, I highly recommend this product for anyone seeking functional, durable gear!

Good piece of active insulation

I like this piece but it definitely is best suited for use while moving. I've worn this walking around, shoveling, touring, and resort skiing. For the most part, this piece is fantastic, adding warmth and protection during general winter conditions (I'm certain that this would be perfect for colder days in the shoulder months but I only got mine this winter) but, high wind seems to cut through this pretty readily. During harsher days I find my neck and face feeling cold, but this is really a wind issue rather than insulation- with my shell hood up, and zipped, this keeps me very warm. I really love this but it was not as warm as I expected. I would be interested to see a heavier weight version in the future- maybe some sort of double layer to break wind better.

Pretty and warm

Love icebreaker merino wool products! Flexi chute is a soft, warm neck warmer that can be worn in a variety of ways. Love the Lazurite color! It's a bright, happy blue! I wish they would make the women's granary shirts and dresses from this color!

Enjoy the neck warmers

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Use this multiple ways...neck warmer, hair band, face cover in cold. I have these in several colors.. pink, lazurite blue, black. They pair nice with my long sleeves and granary tops when I need a little extra warmth... and make it so those shirts are like a turtleneck. They could stand to be a little looser.

Loved This So Much I Bought a Second One

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This small item keeps your neck warm or can be slid up to keep your face warm too. Great in windy or cold conditions. I also wear this item indoors on days when I am chilled. The black blends right in with my base layer and looks like I am wearing a turtleneck. Very cozy. Love it.
