Wonderful warmth in a bulky bag
The Rumpl is well-sized (1-person) and adept at trapping heat/providing warmth. I keep mine in my home office for when it gets chilly and often have it outside for various outdoor events. I appreciate the ease of cleaning--just toss in a washing machine--but wish I could toss it in my machine at home instead of going to the laundromat for the prescribed front-load only. It's a great product for car camping and for sitting around on a patio or any other outdoor area. I wavered over whether to rate this blanket at 4 or 5 stars and ultimately fell to 4 for the following reasons: 1) I really wish it packed down a little smaller. Granted, I could splurge and purchase one of Rumpl's more packable (and much more expensive) natural down blankets, but I wasn't sure if it would be worth the extra. Perhaps better size comparison pictures would've helped this decision for me. 2) I hope the blanket lives up to its advertised durability--if it does, that's awesome. That said, it is less than ideal that this blanket has to be babied and watched closely around campfires/stove fires/etc. It isn't the end of the world, but my ideal "rugged, durable" go-anywhere blanket wouldn't need special consideration around the most ubiquitous of outdoor gathering spots--a fire pit. Overall, I'd be hard-pressed to recommend anyone not purchase this blanket. Heck, I purchased two more for gifts to family members who I think will love them. If Rumpl were ever to make these even a small percentage more packable and eliminate the spark/ember fire concerns, it would be a solid 5-star product. Until then, it's still pretty darn great.
Rumpl should market to the seniors
I purchased a rumpl as a Xmas gift for my wife. once she saw it, we realized we needed to order one for my father(79) to use more as throw because he is always cold. he loved it so much that he purchased another one to have as his regular bedtime blanket. he sprouts better now than in the last 15 years. that prompted my mother to purchase her own, and then my aunt purchased one, then her daughter in law purchased one, more their doctor purchased one. Anyway, the one I purchases for my wife has lead to 7 more (and counting).I guess what I'm saying is that we know rumpl is great outdoors, but they might want to advertise down in Florida at The Villages.
Good idea, bad quality
I received this blanket as as gift, and loved it. Unfortunately, the quality is not as good as the idea. The threads started coming loose all over the blanket, and when I reached out to customer support, they were not able to fix it or warranty it. The quality/customer support is just not there yet to justify such a blanket.
Yellowstone Magic
Perfect blanket, exactly what I hoped for: comfy, sturdy, light, warm, superb design, perfect print with magnificent colors (they are brighter in real life than they appear) ! Though I haven't had the chance to use it outdoors (it was raining until yesterday), my dog (see pictures) already loves it; so does my wife... and me! There are a few negotiation rounds ahead... Furthermore, we a little glitch in the invoice, but Jacob in customer service was very efficient and helpful: thank you so much! This perfect blanket is really worth what you are paying for, so don't hesitate anymore if you intend to buy one!
Thank you so much for sharing this, Sylvain! We are happy to hear you are loving it and that our team was able to help you out! Stay warm!
Great blanket
In a recent temperate weather backpacking trip to Mineral King I ditched my sleeping bag and my son's sleeping bag and saved about 2 pounds and a ton of space in our backpacks. Stuffing it into a 3L cuben fiber z-packs stuff sack and ditching the larger Rumpl stuff sack saved even more space. With one light layer of clothing and Exped sleeping pads in a two person tent we spent three nights at 10K feet in low-mid 40F night time temps in comfort. Anything less than 38-40F I will stick to my 10 degree Western Mountaineering bag, but otherwise this will be my go to. Expensive but worth every penny. Very happy with it. Love the extra width for two.
Grizzly Love
I got the nanoloft travel blanket in geo for my kiddo and love it Sooooo much (warm! soft! tiny!) I wanted one for myself. Super wish the nanoloft puffy (regular size) came in more prints cuz this original is much larger than I like to tote. But I could not pass up the awesome print. Cinch sack will help. Why it does not have a thin strap across the bottom (like the teeny one on the front) to help pull it out of its sack is bafflement, but…🤷🏾♀️ I choose the grizzly.
Sent me the wrong design
They sent me a completely different design then what I ordered
Rumpl is where its at
I'm always on the go, so the rumpl comes in handy while traveling. It keeps me warm at hotels, toasty on taxi rides, cozy at coffee shops, roasty at restaurants and pleasant on the plane. I take this thing everywhere and it doesn't leave my sight.
Great blanket - needs a different compression sack
The blanket is light and keeps you warm in temperatures in the 50s. We used sleeping pads, too, so the effectiveness of its ability to keep heat in may differ without a sleeping pad. The only downside is the compression sack that came with it. The stitching isn't sturdy at the tag, and it failed with the first attempt to stuff the blanket back inside. It gradually comes unraveled with each usage. I could sew it back myself, but I think I'm going to order a compression sack with tightening straps just to make the whole process easier. The blanket alone is worth the expense, so I don't mind the failing compression/cinch sack.
Cat approved, though not claw resistant!
Unbelievably cozy. I have two of these things; one for cat napping, and one for adventuring. Very lightweight, but has kept me toasty on many a cool night, both indoor and out. The material is not built to withstand kitty claws, but if it's for indoor use, the punctures aren't anything to stress over.
