Oddly cut sleeves

Torso fit well, sleeve length was right, seems pretty well constructed, liked the color scheme, and I’m sure it’s reasonably warm. But... the upper part of the sleeves are cut huge and puffy (think the Michelin man). Really wanted this to be my jacket for the upcoming season, but it’s going back.

Warm and durable, yet lightweight!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is one of the many mens Powder Lite jackets I have bought for my family. I bought the first one 3 years ago for a Christmas gift for my Grandson. He is still wearing it in Pro Bass Fishing tournaments. I bought my husband , my 5 Grandsons one since. This jacket is warm yet lightweight. Perfect for fishing and outdoor sports.

Nice jacket but description is incorrect.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Last June (2019) I purchased the Men’s Powder Lite™ Hooded Insulated Jacket. I really like that jacket and thought I would like the non-hooded version as well. This Powder Lite (non-hooded) is pretty comfortable, lightweight and warm to about 15-degrees. Although the non-hooded jacket I ordered is a nice jacket, Columbia changed the design but did not update the product description to reflect the differences. The main difference is the interior pockets - the new version has two large slip pockets and NO zippered security pocket. In addition to the inaccurate product description, this jacket has chunky zippers on the external pockets, which are a bit rough on the wrists when using as handwarmers. The last issue has to do with the fit. Lately, I have been trying Columbia's "Active" fit as most of the other fits tend to be "baggy". With the several "Active" fit jackets I own, they do not seem to be much slimmer than any of the "Modern Classic" jackets I also own. In fact, the only difference seems to be tighter armpits with the "Active" fit. I recently came across a Voodoo Falls non-hooded jacket at a local store and bought it immediately. One of the attached images shows the two jackets together with the underarm section of the orange Voodoo Falls jacket showing the only visible sizing difference. Due to the Voodoo Falls being a bit nicer, more comfortable and having an interior security pocket, I will be returning this Powder Lite jacket. It's still a fine jacket - just note the design differences and the tight-fitting armpits if you purchase the Powder Lite.

Great value

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is a great value. It's a beautifully made parka. It's light weight. It's durable and it keeps my body at a comfortable temperature. I can feel the difference immediately when putting it on. The elastic on the sleeve opening by the wrist is great. There is a design flaw however. There is a small channel of nylon that runs right next to the zipper. The zipper catches on it over and over. I found a solution on the internet. Make a small incision at each end of the channel. Insert a wire into the channel and push it the length of the channel. Attach a cord big enough to fill the channel to the wire with tape and pull it through the entire way. Tie a knot on each end and the zipper will not catch anymore. It's a fairly quick and easy fix.

Runs slim in the torso but good jacket if it fits your particular body

I had the women's version of this for many years and it was my favorite jacket ever. I bought a replacement eventually and went up a size and everything was longer but it didn't have any more room in the waist, so I gave it away. I recently bought a men's M for my partner who wears a men's M comfortably in a different Columbia jacket, but this was too tight to connect the zipper even though it fit in the arms and at top. I'm afraid from my experience the L/XL will have longer arms but no more room elsewhere, so sadly we are looking for a different product. Seems to be made for a very slim shape and there's very little difference between sizes in the torso.

Good go-between jacket.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this jacket as a easy go-between from light jacket weather to cold heavy jacket weather. It appears to do a good job with temperatures into the 40's. It is light and thin, and will keep you warm. I did wear it on a low 30 degree windy night, and I felt a little cold, so I will switch to my heavy jacket when it is that cold. As with most Columbia jackets, they run a little larger. I usually wear a large, but bought this in a medium. The sleeve length and cut is perfect for me. It is a little snug around my chest, but I believe it is cut that way to keep you warm. Overall the jacket is doing the job I purchased it for.

Warm as down, not very water resistant

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this jacket to replace a down one I’ve used for years. I wasn’t sure if it’d be as warm as the down, but this proved me wrong. I tested them both on a day when we had 15 degree temperatures and this was just as warm. The reflective liner keeps it really warm. It is great for keeping the wind out too. The only thing I wish is that the shell was a little more water resistant. I’ve worn it in light rain and it was good for only a few minutes before I could see the drops start to soak through the shell. But I did wear this in a pretty heavy rain storm with a light rain jacket (also Columbia) and it was the perfect combo. All in all, I think I’m going to love this jacket for years!

warm jacket!

i bought this for my dad, he's usually a S in tops/jackets (around 5'3 and 120lbs - small stature) so that's the size i got him. sometimes he'll opt for M if he wants a looser fit. this jacket seems like it'll fit him well (perhaps a bit roomy). the sleeves are big and i believe this is a wide jacket so there should be plenty of space to layer. you can really feel the warmth inside the jacket too. i'd say this jacket runs slightly big and it is also long so if you have wide hips, this might be a bit tight since there's no stretch (depending on the size you get ofc). overall it's a decent product!

Don't like the Omni Heat 3D "stickyness"

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have dozens of Columbia products and love most and they are always true to size. This one is not contrary to what most say here. It runs a little small (and therfore tight, too tight). Just fyi. I am 6' 163# and always buy M unless I am going to wear a full jacket under another one, then I go to a L. Secondly, the new Omni Heat 3D is not only VERY noisy, but extremely sticky if you have on a fleece or cotton shirt or vest under it. So much so that it is more than a struggle to get it on, and it keeps sticking, like a tacky substance so you are never comfortable. This jacket was just returned.

Columbia's Best Kept Secret and More Bang for your Buck

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is amazing. First of all is lightweight so I really didn't think that it would serve it's purpose. Me being 250 lbs found it to be comfortable and warm at the same time. The omni- heat insulation is something all jackets should have in my opinion
