[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Usually I love my Medium size Columbia jackets. Bought this one for a trip and very disappointed with the design and feel of the jacket 1) the Sherpa lining keeps detaching from outer shell so it slips up a lot and gets out of place, you have to readjust it. If not readjusted the jacket slips more and more and ends up flaring all around 2) the jacket zipped up all the way, the collar scrapes the chin so much, it doesn’t clear the chin all the way 3) personal choice. I think the zipper could starts little higher that you can wear it sitting down and it doesn’t fold so much I feel like a jacket in this price range you should be able to put on and walk out the door and not have to accept so many flaws
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Contrary to what has been written in other reviews, the sleeves ARE insulated with 60g Microtemp polyester, which is warm as all get-out, and which Columbia has used for many years now. Please see the "Fit and Fabric" entry on this website, as well as my photo. They probably did not put sherpa insulation in the sleeves because they did not want to be plagued with hundreds of complaints re: "my shirt sleeves get all scrunched up by the sherpa fabric!" Anyway - I purchased a Columbia Galaxy (?) sherpa sweatshirt many years ago, and it has kept me warm in the coldest conditions. I always wondered, "why can't they put this into an Omni Tech jacket?" Well, now they have - and this 2L nylon is bombproof. This is honestly the BEST JACKET COLUMBIA HAS EVER MANUFACTURED, and I have been "collecting" their gear for almost 30 years. Titanium might be the top of the line, but Landroamer is a close second - especially if you are going out into some serious bush. This jacket is warm, but not bulky, and the insulated sleeves ensure a full range of motion. And, in true Landroamer fashion, there are waterproof, zipper and velcro closed pockets galore. I cannot say enough good about this jacket - I will probably never purchase another!!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good quality and looks nice. Indispensable. Great. Thank you
This jacket is perfect for nasty weather. I just went for a 2 mile walk in 34 degree weather with 12 mph wind while it was raining. The jacket kept me both warm and dry the whole way, I was wearing a light fleece underneath and a beanie and eventually had to the take the beanie off to avoid being too warm. Layering underneath makes it great for even colder weather, highly recommended.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There is so much to love about this jacket. I love the dark green color, warm insulated hood, and the very warm sherpa lining. I knew sizing runs large based on many reviews so I ordered one size smaller which fit me perfectly. However, the biggest issue for me is that the sleeves are not insulated! Since I am buying this for cold weather use, and I prefer my arms to be warm too, that is a deal breaker for me. It makes no sense why they would not insulate the sleeves too!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wanted a solid-color, cold weather jacket so I could have a nicer-looking alternative to my heavy camo jacket when out and about. Fits good, looks good, and warm. Haven’t had the weather to test the waterproof capability yet, but I’m glad to know it’s there. My only personal nitpick is that I wish the hood was removable - like my hunting jacket hood is - as I prefer the option to add or remove it depending on circumstances. Otherwise I’m very happy with this purchase.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this jacket to replace my main winter coat that I had for 20 years (also Columbia). Very good mid-weight coat. You can wear in in the 50’s unzipped without getting too hot, and I’ve worn it in mid 30’s drizzle comfortably. Any cooler than 30 degrees and you’d probably want to throw on a fleece underneath. The Sherpa is a very nice touch, and I love the hood. This coat is more comfortable than my previous coat, time will tell if it also lasts me 20 years.
I wanted a jacket with Sherpa lining in the inside. For some reason it keeps me warmer. That’s the main reason I bought it. The quality of these Columbia jackets does not disappoint. I wish the pockets to keep your hands warm had thicker lining. That’s the only negative I can think of. The rest of the jacket is solid
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Haven´t used yet (Because is spring here in San Diego) but the jacket fits well, and provide a lot of warm for spring here in Socal. can´t wait to try it in a really cold and rainy day. Usually wear "M" and the jacket fits my very well so i can use with base & mid layer for a winter in NY or Japan.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m a female and bought the mens. I chose medium. It fits well with room to layer. Covers my backside for extra warmth. I live in Maine where the wind whips often and this coat has kept me so warm on the cold and windy days. The outer shell does attract lint or hair easily.
